"Shouldn’t Glenn have this rally at his center for religious belief, Salt Lake?"

Why? Do you believe that Israel would benefit more if the rally were held in SLC, or are you content with taking an anti-mormon cheap shot?

So, speak your hate elsewhere.

Hate to you; facts to the rest of the world.

Oh; I'll speak where and when I please, as I am not intimidated by those behind a screen; no matter HOW blustery they get.

Cleon Skousen?

Try the founding fathers! It ain't Cleon Skousen he's quoting every day. He doesn't sit in front of portraits of Cleon Skousen every day.

Face it FRiend, you are a raving conspiracy nut!

G, are you a Bible literalist? If so, then your question about how I know evil was answered wyyyyyy back there in Genesis.
And HaShem G-d said: ‘Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever.’

Who is us? Why did G-d deliberately set up THIS test? See? You say you believe, but you don’t know what and you don’t know why and you question nothing. That was the purpose of Job. The Book of Job is OLDER than the book of Genesis.
Job was not A man. Job is a metaphor for MANKIND. HUMANS. The Book of Job tracks humanity through generations. Man’s advance into REASON.
Have you read it word for word, skipping none? Do you realize that there are things in there that don’t really belong? Like Greek astronomical terms unknown when the way history was passed on was by word of mouth, oral tradition, so that when it WAS finally written down, they no longer understood it so they added their OWN understanding to it.
It details man’s struggle to become a creature of reason and conscience.
“What is man, that Thou shouldest magnify him, and that Thou shouldest set Thy heart upon him,
18
And that Thou shouldest remember him every morning, and try him every moment?

And the admonitions in Job were to LEARN. Above all things, LEARN and question; and with knowledge, apply wisdom; and with knowledge and wisdom, apply conscience. Because, says G-d, the SONS of G-d are coming back to test you. Closed minds gather no wisdom.
The book of Job describes dinosaurs (behemoths,) and volcanoes, (Leviathan,) and hot coals cooling on the earth’s crust. It describes lava flowing into oceans and how the water boils and bubbles. It describes how primitive man tried to fend off advancing lava that turned their clubs into smoldering cinders. It describes fields and mountains of ice.
Read it ALL, not as prose, but as history. Shock yourself.

Since you apparently didn’t read my last post, I’ll say it again...

Sorry, I don’t see your connection with what you’ve posted, to anything Beck has said or talked about.

So, while you may have posted “facts” about something, they are not connected to anything Beck has said, so they are irrelevant.

LOL....this thread is missing this

Because apparently, SOME people aren't getting it no matter how hard we try to 'splain it to em. ;) Then again, maybe they are Soros plants, remember "Rules for Radicals"?

Rule 1: Power is not only what you have, but what an opponent thinks you have. If your organization is small, hide your numbers in the dark and raise a din that will make everyone think you have many more people than you do.

Rule 2: Never go outside the experience of your people. The result is confusion, fear, and retreat.

Rule 3: Whenever possible, go outside the experience of an opponent. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.

Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. “You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”

Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.

Rule 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. “If your people aren’t having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic.”

Rule 7: A tactic that drags on for too long becomes a drag. Commitment may become ritualistic as people turn to other issues.

Rule 8: Keep the pressure on. Use different tactics and actions and use all events of the period for your purpose. “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this that will cause the opposition to react to your advantage.”

Rule 9: The threat is more terrifying than the thing itself. When Alinsky leaked word that large numbers of poor people were going to tie up the washrooms of O’Hare Airport, Chicago city authorities quickly agreed to act on a longstanding commitment to a ghetto organization. They imagined the mayhem as thousands of passengers poured off airplanes to discover every washroom occupied. Then they imagined the international embarrassment and the damage to the city’s reputation.

Rule 10: The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative. Avoid being trapped by an opponent or an interviewer who says, “Okay, what would you do?”

Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Don’t try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.

So people like you would learn that G-d and G-d alone is the arbiter of souls and no one else, including satan, and certainly not you, can decide any man’s fate or judge any man’s soul. In short, G-d did not die and leave you boss.
Thank You, G-d.

BTW, your stupidity on this subject is loud. Who does beck HIMSELF claim to have changed his views? Why beck himself papertyger. Hmmmm wonder why beck has been pushing Skousen's book "The 5,000 Year Leap" sooooo much. A nut job is the source of Beck's inspiration.

“It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths all around the world.”

What is BAD about this, G? Take Beck out of it. What is bad about people of all faiths standing for Jerusalem? No one seems to care about that and THAT is what this thread was about.

And HaShem G-d said: ‘Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever.’

Very good, and man learns by. . . . repetition of the subject material. It may also be a reference of man choosing what is best for him and what is not.

You say you believe, but you don’t know what and you don’t know why and you question nothing. That was the purpose of Job.

I have no clue where you extrapolated MY belief from. I recognize that this is a fallen world - under the curse, and that G-d causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust, just as much as bad things can and do happen to good people. I don't take every 'bad' thing as an evil attack on me - it happens because of the general curse.

The Book of Job is OLDER than the book of Genesis.

No problem with that - it is clearly pre-Mosaic.

Job was not A man. Job is a metaphor for MANKIND. HUMANS

That is one way of reading it, and there is likely a lot of metaphor written into it. However, G-d put a lot of actual physical references in there too, such as the reference to Uz, etc to allow for a total metaphorical interpretation.

Do you realize that there are things in there that don’t really belong? Like Greek astronomical terms unknown when the way history was passed on was by word of mouth, oral tradition, so that when it WAS finally written down, they no longer understood it so they added their OWN understanding to it.

I'm dissapointed in your train of logic so far. You've just stated Job was older than Genesis, now trying to state there are anachronisms in it? I would be interested in these passages.

It details man’s struggle to become a creature of reason and conscience. “What is man, that Thou shouldest magnify him, and that Thou shouldest set Thy heart upon him,

Sorry, too shallow of an interpretation mesta. In my reading there are four - empiricism (Job's wife), rationalism (Job and his friends), human inspiration (Elihu) and revelation (G-d).

And the admonitions in Job were to LEARN. Above all things, LEARN and question; and with knowledge, apply wisdom; and with knowledge and wisdom, apply conscience. Because, says G-d, the SONS of G-d are coming back to test you. Closed minds gather no wisdom.

G-d kinda showed them that their human-based wisdom was empty without his guidance. It goes farther - to trust G-d even when we don't understand or have any explaination for what is happening or what he tells us to do (see Abraham's readiness to follow G-d's command to sacrifice Isaaic). G-d is sovern, omniscient, omnipotent, and caring while man in finite, ignorant and sinful.

I do read it as history - but please make up your mind - is it metaphor or history now?

Oh and don't forget that the earth "He hangeth the Earth upon nothing..."

Do you believe that Israel would benefit more if the rally were held in SLC, or are you content with taking an anti-mormon cheap shot?

A) Isn't Salt Lake the center for his belief system? Why would that be a cheap shot. If he were still Catholic I would have inserted the Vatican City.

B) Yes. This event would make more sense in SLC and no, I do not think this rally makes any sense being in Israel. If he wants to make the defense of Israel from it's current enemies the primary thing, wouldn't rallying here to make sure a pro Israel President is elected in '12 make sense? It would effect more real change then what he is proposing. By reading past posts on this thread, others have stated with clarity that this is not something that the Israeli people will look positively on. It is not America and they don't hold our sensibilities. If this is just to promote Courage in our people, are there not enough tough issues in our country today that would fit the bill and would not cost people an arm and a leg to attend in this economy?

This whole thing is off and the fact that he can't even fully explain it to his true believers should send peoples radar up. Just read some of the comments at his site. Mine went up last week when the photos of his trip there showed him wearing a yarmulke when non was necessary for people of other religions.

“It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths all around the world.”

Are you including moslems? All faiths doctrinally don't accept judaism now do they?

Incase you haven't noticed - much of Jerusalem is no longer walled - so what is he really referring to here?

What is bad about people of all faiths standing for Jerusalem? No one seems to care about that and THAT is what this thread was about.

Or is this more of a publicity stunt for beck? Again, you seek the strength of man's arm - not that of G-d.

Job is pre writing. Job began before man could put the words down. It was an oral history. By the time it was written down, the context was missing because here was simply NOTHING left to compare it to. Yet they kept the literal descriptions even though they didn’t understand them because that was the history they had been taught. They tried to put their own context on it for their time. It doesn’t work as history that way. It completely changes thecontext. The way they wrote it was like an Aesop’s fable or a parable. It isn’t. It’s a rulebook and a guidebook and the history of man updated by new generations.
I think it is the most interesting Book in the entire Bible.

"A) Isn't Salt Lake the center for his belief system?"

Yes, it is. What on earth does that have to do with standing up with courage for the State of Israel and the Jewish people? Have you actually heard or read what the rally is about? Isn't it more effective to rally for ALL religious sites in Jerusalem by being IN Jerusalem?

"If he wants to make the defense of Israel from it's current enemies the primary thing, wouldn't rallying here to make sure a pro Israel President is elected in '12 make sense?"

Why can't both be done? Seems to me that Beck has done everything he can to promote a pro-Israel president.

"By reading past posts on this thread, others have stated with clarity that this is not something that the Israeli people will look positively on. It is not America and they don't hold our sensibilities."

Beck spent a week scouting the rally. I didn't and I doubt that the wise folks commenting on this thread did either. The Mayor of Jerusalem appeared on Beck's TV show and he is all-in on the rally. Are you representing that you and the people on this thread represent people in Jerusalem better than the Mayor of the city?

"If this is just to promote Courage in our people, are there not enough tough issues in our country today that would fit the bill and would not cost people an arm and a leg to attend in this economy?"

Nobody is forcing anybody to attend this rally. If it is a hardship, don't go ... it is that simple. It is obvious to me that this rally is not aimed at Americans exclusively. There is a worldwide audience, and a need throughout the world to stand with courage for Israel. Again ... why can't both be done? This 'we can only do one thing effectively' attitude simply makes no sense.

"This whole thing is off and the fact that he can't even fully explain it to his true believers should send peoples radar up."

I'm not sure to whom you refer as 'his true believers'. If you contend, for some reason, that this 'whole thing is off', say so to begin with. Some off-hand reference to SLC was wholly inadequate, given your more detailed concerns.

Luke 7:31-35

31 Jesus went on to say, “To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other:

“‘We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.’

33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ 35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children.”
