Following a morning raid and several hours of questioning, LAPD detectives on Sunday afternoon formally arrested a man on suspicion of being one of the two assailants in the brutal beating of Giants fan Bryan Stow at Dodger Stadium.
[Update, 5:46 p.m.: LAPD officials publicly identified the suspect as 31-year-old Giovanni Ramirez. Ramirez was booked for assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $1 million bail.]

This Ramirez d'bag has numerous priors. Beautiful...
Diversity is our strength.
Why even allow for bail? Seriously. Just hold him, no bail, until the trial.
No hate crime here. Just move along folks, get on back to you homes, nothing to see.
Multi-culturalism at it’s best.
We drove by this afternoon near Mariposa from Sunset and it was cordoned off around noon time today. Now we know what the hell were those noisy LAPD choppers last night.
This was attempted murder, why bail. He should get life when sentencing.
he should be beaten by Baseball bats signed by Giants hall of famers
I will bet the pos’ attorney will claim at the trial the victim is at fault because he made a racist remark before he was beaten to near death.

I wonder which one is him.....
The one on the left, I believe. He was described as bald and tattooed.
“I wonder which one is him”.....
Both no doubt.
Outrageous! How dare you profane innocent animals like that!

Actually though, I live around some of these areas infested with these types. They are evil, heartless devils of the worst order and it looks like our liberal twit governor is going to let thousands of these violent bastards out of the prisons because of lack of space. It's as simple as this, these types move into your neighborhood, you either move away or lose all your stuff and maybe even your life. I don't care if that sounds racist because I've seen all of this first hand and it's the truth.
Wonder if the parole officer is going to be threatened now?
Douse him with gasoline, light match and walk away.
Detectives said they got the break they needed late last week when they got a tip from a parole officer. Ramirez was convicted of attempted robbery in 1998, robbery in 1999 and firing a weapon in a public place in 2005.
Ramirez, who police said is a documented member of the Varrio Nuevo Estrada street gang, has at least three prior felony convictions
How is it the media have not yet obtained — and shown — the suspect’s booking photo...???
I was wondering the same thing...
The Bryan Stow Giovanni Ramirez case is far from over, LAPD tells news. Giovanni Ramirez (no mugshot photo yet released) is one of two persons in the composite sketch picture previously issued in the Bryan Stow (aka Brian Stow) investigation, claim officials. As earlier reported on LALATE Sunday, Giovanni Ramirez, a 31 year old resident of East Hollywood, was arrested as the first of several suspects in the beating of Giants fan Bryan Stow (aka Brian Stow). New details about Giovanni Ramirez, the hunter for the men who beat Bryan Stow, and an alleged female accomplish are being revealed by LAPD today.
But while LAPD has one suspect, it now confirms that they are at least two other suspects in the beating of Bryan Stow at large. Additionally, LAPD now suggests that there is a female getaway driver being sought.
Beck told news that Ramirez is just the start of the investigation and more suspects, believed armed and dangerous, are being sought.
Sources claim that Ramirez had noticeable neck tattoos and allegedly recently tried to have those tattoos changed to prevent identification.

The news noticed they caught him, they noticed he beat a father of 2 into a coma at a dodgers game, they just didnt notice he is a member of Varrio Nuevo Estrada Mexican street gang. They also didnt seem to notice the 60%+ likeliness that this makes him an illegal alien, and the 90%+ likeliness that hes at minimum an anchor baby.
Its ok to mention race when its some make believe agenda pusher, but not when 3 Mexican gang members living in Los Angeles beat a white father into a coma for no reason.
The cut and paste Associated Press story by By CHRISTOPHER WEBER that is published in all the liberal newspapers right now and dominates internet results does not even mention the 3 prior felony convictions that Mexican gang member Giovanni Ramirez has dating back to 1998. The Liberal associated press also makes no mention that he is a documented member of a Mexican street and drug gang.
For those looking for facts and not fluff,..Giovanni Ramirez is a documented member of the Varrio Nuevo Estrada street gang, as released already by the LAPD.
Do a quick search of the liberal media and find the AP article, New York Times and other sources not mentioning his Mexican gang ties in the article. The only source was the exact press release by the LAPD, the release that seems ignored by the left wing sympathists.
According to the Department of Justice, an estimated 60% of Los Angeles gang members were illegal immigrants, so even by conservative estimate that means 2 of the 3 guilty of beating a father of two to coma at a baseball game are illegals in Los Angeles.
This makes them elidgible for in state tuition, WIC, Food stamps, unemployment, drivers licenses list goes on.

Also, the arrest and hopefully more arrests, comes at a time when the liberal (leftist dumbass) majority of the U.S. Supreme Court has deemed that thousands more of these criminales shall be released to the streets of California.
There goes a mountain of police work, all in vain. It must be so frustrating to be LAPD. I can tell you, from having served on a jury earlier this year on a case that involved surveillance, their surveillance team is absolutely amazing.
One of the TV news reports mentioned there will be a live line-up in front of witnesses later this week. Possibly, this is why a photo has not been released.
Having grown up in L.A. since the ‘50s, I am surprised that I have not heard of VNE before, unless they went under different names.
