OAKLAND, Calif. -- As crestfallen followers of a California preacher who foresaw the world's end strained to find meaning in their lives, Harold Camping revised his apocalyptic prophecy Monday, saying he was off by five months because the Earth actually will be obliterated on Oct. 21.

The guy is at the age where he’s gonna say what he wants to say and doesn’t give a rat’s butt what you or I or anyone else thinks about it...
HAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Stupid. Really, really, really stupid.
On the other hand, eventually one of you whack jobs will be right. It will be an accident, but you'll be right.
I am not giving a date so how can I be right?
Off by 5 months???
Fool me once shame on you!... Fool me twice Shame on Me!... Fool me thrice sign me up as a Morman!
Anyone who continues to follow this man has no interest in the truth.
Well said picture!
don't talk about Algore like that.
He had always been saying “the end” would come in October 2011. The difference is that in his prior statements he claimed the beginning of “the tribulation” leading up to “the end” as well as “the rapture” would begin on May 21st.
Now he says he was wrong about what we would see, with regard to “the tribulation”, and with regard to the time of “the rapture”, but he remains “still certain” that the end will arrive in October 2011.
Don’t flame me. I am not one of Mr. Camping’s little sheeple. I’m just reporting.
Hey Algore, what have we learned here?
How many naive people were taken in by this false prophet and false teacher?
Harold Camping, you would be wise to repent.
“Everyone I speak with agrees we are in the end times so why cant this man just say this and not give a date?”
As did the early Christians, Martin Luther, etc.
We may be in the end times; we may have another 2000 years to wait.
Christ may come before I finish typing this post; he may come when the great-great-great-great-great grandchildren of all of us are STILL arguing on Free Republic.
It is wiser to say “we may be living in the last days, but whether or not the last days are upon us, it is wise of us to study the Scripture, in context, so that we will better understand what is to come.”
I have already said this in this thread but thanks for the sermon everyone thinks they must give.
