NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nearly two dozen police officers were called out to Wave Country on Monday afternoon and were forced to shut the water park down two hours early.
The intense heat brought out thousands of people to the park's opening day.
Metro Parks director Tommy Lynch said Wave Country was nowhere near capacity, but there were plenty of problems that caused the park to close early.
Metro Police were called out to Wave Country around 1 p.m. because the crowd outside the gates and inside the park was acting up.
The decision was made to close the gates, and eventually the entire park. That's because several people were not taking directions from staff and police.
There were several fights inside. Police said one of the biggest problems was people jumping the fence to get into the park, creating chaos inside the park.
Wave Country will re-open on it's regular schedule on June 3.

The correlation in general between violence and employment has been well documented since the 1930’s. May or may not be real..but generally people with prospects watch their conduct better.
I think it’s more likely that people who behave in a civilized way have more prospects.

The problem is made worse by people pretending that it does not exist and I am grateful for places like FreeRepublic where it is exposed.
Same thing here in Macon Ga. Our Macon Mall is now referred to as Ghetto Mall. No matter what time of day you are there, young BMs are hanging out fighting and looking for trouble. Stores are leaving constantly.
That is a myth often propagated here...not sure why....maybe because the larger truth is not very comfortable. In 1963, black illegitimacy rate was 20%. White rate was around .05%
Today it's nearly 80% for blacks and 20% for whites.
Guess which one group has gone downhill more ironically as a percentage.
Liberalism has hurt but it's more than that. People have to be held responsible for themselves at some point and how they act. Blaming how they act simply on government policy is as much a cop out as thinking government can completely take care of folks.
There is a steady constant of this sort of group black behavior worldwide and in many places where there is zero government assistance...like Haiti and West Africa and Jamaica etc....huge illegitimacy and crime and higher levels of violent behavior as a group.
One figures how to fix that and you got something..a real Nobel Prize. Has anyone ever really examined times in history when black culture has worked best...been safer...more daddies and responsible moms etc ...under what systems and in what eras?
It's not pretty I can tell you.
I have lived all my life in majority or at least 25% black population centers and have seen it fall off a cliff and take lower class whites with them.
In fact in my businesses, whites we refer to as a the w-word are far worse to be honest.
The differences between white trash and black trash are distinct.
White Trash do share some of the entitlement mentality of black trash, but they do not generally share the propencity for beligerence and violence. Not saying its not there, but its just not the same. I’ll take dealing with a redneck from Appalachia anyday over an inner city thug wanna be 4th generation dependent.
Poor White Trash also represent a far smallar percentage of the overall white population than black trash do for the black population.
Black Trash are pandered, stirred up and fed a blame whitey nonsense, white trash are pandered to, but generally are not inflamed for political gain in the same manner.
And lets not even get into the very real average IQ difference between the races, that make it far easier sadly to manipulate larger portions of certain populations.
