Chris Matthews: Not Since Abraham Lincoln Has Someone 'Caused' Strife Like Sarah Palin
newsbusters.org ^ | June 2, 2011 | Scott Whitlock

According to Chris Matthews, Sarah Palin is the most divisive figure since Abraham Lincoln "caused" the Civil War. In an odd historical analogy, the Hardball host marveled at Palin's bus tour: "Leading off tonight, civil war on the right. Not since the election of Abraham Lincoln has a Republican caused such a war."

The anchor frothed, "Sarah Palin went right to New Hampshire, serving as a human grenade, blowing up his announcement by saying Romney's health care is a total violation of Tea Party beliefs."

The anchor frothed, "Sarah Palin went right to New Hampshire, serving as a human grenade, blowing up [Mitt's] announcement..."

I know, wasn't it great. Chrissy and his commie comrades are deeply saddened. They know Mitt wouldn't stand a chance in the general.

Sounds like just another unrepentant Confederate somebody has to go shoot right away if that war ever gets reignited.

Waste of a good bullet is what I say.

I have to admit that Bachman and Palin are quite a lovely pair . . . very photogenic . . . I'm sure that's driving the fuguglies and the feminazis totally nutz!

Good looking, self-made, educated, great résumés, verbose, witty, intelligent, and . . . did I say good looking?

Hey, Matthews, why don't you see if Weiner's veiner schnitzel will send a tingle up your leg?

I think the analogy to 1860 is quite accurate.

I have been predicting a four-way election, with a high potential for war to follow, for two years.

Sarah as Lincoln? It’s possible.

I think the Democrat candidate and the Republican candidate will both be supporters of economic slavery and infanticide (although the Republican will lie about it). There will probably be a “Can’t we all just get along”, Constitutional Union-type candidate.

And there will be Sarah.

Methinks the man doth protest too much.

After many years married to a hot TV Reporterette, he may be tired of her (or more likely vice versa) and getting a tingle about Sarah. Thus, the reaction formation.

No wonder Matthews has a problem with “Lincoln causing the Civil War”. He managed to avoid the “war” of his generation:

Matthews served in the United States Peace Corps in Swaziland from 1968 to 1970 as a trade development adviser.

Personally I think that Michelle B is the better choice but Sarah really knows how to push the liberal’s buttons. It does almost seem like the two; Sarah and Zerobama, are destined to meet at the polling booth.

What is really ticking me off is the way so many talk radio jocks are saying that the Republican field doesn’t stand a chance against zero. The election isn’t about personalities it is about policies and the timeless principals that made our country great.

Of course LINCOLN WAS NOT. The situation had been festering for the previous 3/4 of a century ~ the issue was that Europeans had imposed slavery on America, and now it was time to literally throw off the shackles.

Alas, your typical Europhiles in those days weren't exactly like the Eurotrash ski lodge folks but they were Europhiles to the degree they'd rather hold people in slavery so they could keep the price of cotton they sold to Europeans low.

If they'd been pro-American there'd been much less of a problem. Too bad so many had to die.

How utterly foolish of Chris Matthews to add himself to the list of Confederates.

Somehow, I don’t think that putting Ms. Palin on the same level as President Lincoln is the sort of comparison that Ms. Palin would seriously object to other than, perhaps, to say that she really hasn’t quite earned such a high and distinguished honor yet.

Whoa, what jocks?

Rush has been right in saying that 0bama is extremely beatable.

What's "0" going to run on?

High unemployment?

High gas prices?

High food prices?

High utility costs?

Record home foreclosures?, etc, etc!

The 0bamabots are a lost cause, but if the so-called "independents" remember in November of 2012, 0bama is toast. and we're all racists..:=)
