I've read here on FR, that there are fans of this show, so I thought I'd give a heads up that Netflix now has seasons 1 through 5 up for streaming.
Any opinions of the show would be of interest to me..should I bother or does 5the show ctash and burn at some point?
NetFlix had better beef up it’s inventory soon or I am dumping them
There sre too many times I’ve searched for something I know I can easily find on other sites and cannot find on Netflix
If they have it on DVD (available) why is it not on streaming?
Streaming rights are very expensive.
Great show. Season 5 wasnt too bad as far as show endings go. Season 5 had some really good stand alone episodes. I have all of the DVDs and I never watch Season 1 anymore. In my opinion it starts getting really good during season 2. It jumps the shark for a little bitcant tell you why or I will spoil it. Then it redeems itself. Enjoy!
I have not heard of this show. (I spend far too much time on FR) Can you give me an idea of what the show is about?
They’ve had Buffy and Angel on stream for a long time. Season 1 of Angel is a little rough as they were figuring out what the plot should be, but with season 2 they got it up to Buffy form.
It’s a spinoff from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, mostly follows the same pattern of slaying monsters with a mild plot tying it all together, but a bit darker than Buffy. If you’re interested start with Buffy (ignore the movie, it stinks and completely missed the point of the script), if you like it and stick with it long enough for the character of Angel to leave you can start watching Angel in parallel. If you don’t like it no biggie, Joss is an acquired taste.
I’m ready to dumop them also but not for that. They take a week to credit me when I send in a movie. I got 4 last Tuesday and sent one back Monday this week and still no credit.
I sent another back Tuesday. They have a warehouse in Memphis so it only takes a day. I have had to go report all of them lost for the last month just to get another m ovie and this crap has been going on now for the past 4 months.
If it doesn’t get fixed by July, I am done with them. I used to brag on them but they flat out suck now. I am not sending mine back the next day so I don’t know why they are throttling me.
The TNT network still runs Angel early in the AM and has been for years.
Might be something going wrong with your post office. Most places I drop my Netflix they’re credited the next day, there’s a couple spots I use where it’ll be two or three minimum.
A vampire. He fights crime.
Oh and Hot chicks with superpowers
(But you have to wait a bit)
Also, it's a Joe Sweden show, the dialogue is the best. Recall Barry's final speech in Bladerunner. This show does one that will remind you of that (but it's better)
Its not the post office, its Netflix. They are deliberately not crediting my account for days.
Why would they pick on you? I’ve been with netflix since close to the beginning, I’ve been throttled, I’ve been not. In my experience if there’s repeated long delays when I haven’t “earned” throttling the problem is with the delivery part, usually a bad postal worker, usually a temp person covering vacation. Irregular delays usually track to using a particular box. In theory there could be something going wrong at the Memphis netflix office, but that seems kind of unlikely, netflix is notoriously ready to fire people for under performing.
I cut back from 6 at a time to 4 at a time is when this started. It literally started the next week.
I am sick of it. I have mailed them at the post office and I have mailed them from home. The result is the same. No credit for a week after mailing.
It seems strange that I get a notice the day AFTER I report them missing that they received them EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I have been with Netflix for over 3 years and this is most definitely them doing this. It is not the post office. Like I said, when July comes, if it is still going on then, I will cancel.
I’ve been 3 at a time for almost 10 years and never went through what you’re dealing with. I’m just not buying that they’ve decided to ultra throttle you, what do they gain? The best they could hope for is eventually they lose all your money. Try a box at a different PO, especially if the PO you tried is the one that services your home. I’m betting it’s the PO just because there’s no logical reason for netflix to do it.
Angel is a famously bad vampire, reveling in pain an horror that he causes his victims, and then while wiping out a Gypsy camp for fun and giggles, he is cursed by a Gypsy, which returns his soul to him. With his soul back in him, he suddenly sees what he is, and the pain that he has caused, this breaks him and he spends a century living in the gutters and shadows, broken, feeding on rat blood and animal blood, and then he finds out that there is a larger struggle between good and evil, and that some non human creatures and demons serve good, so he becomes a vampire that fights the dark forces.
There is much nobility in the series. Mixed with the humor, and supernatural, is a strong warrior element, true self sacrifice, and the undeniable reality of an eternal, vicious, merciless, struggle between good and bad forces.
Angel is a pretty inspiring figure, not from costume (none) and stunts, but from his honesty and inner torment as he knows exactly every single evil deed and person that he fed on during his history of being not just vampire, but an especially wicked vampire. Angel does a great job of being the quiet, heroic, humble, tormented, leader.
Buy what you want. I have mailed from my house for 3 years and now this happens. It is Netflix.
I have mailed from 3 differnt post offices in adition to my house and results are all the same. Did you not see where I said past 4 months?
I don’t know why, but whenever they say they are mailing one to me, it gets here in 1 day. Whenever I mail one back takes 5 or more days. Do the math, it ain’t me and it ain’t the post office.
It’s actually the 4 months thing that makes me convinced it’s the PO not netflix. I believe in Okham’s Razor with religious fervor and the simplest explanation is the PO. For it to be Netflix they’d have had to decide to punish you for still spending more than the average 3 a day customer, they’d have had to do that by making a note in your account so that everybody handling your disks would know to slow you down, said note would be subpoena-able if you decided to take action alone or in class, such data would be a huge PR hit not to mention the cost of the suit that they’d clearly lose.
Or your PO sucks.
One of these answers is simpler than the other.
Since I have mailed them at THREE different post offices which you have yet to acknowledge, it is NOT that.
Also, just checked my account and still none are credited. I will report them all lost AGAIN tonight.
Could be something hitting all your local POs. Maybe they’ve made a change in how they handle the stuff to Netflix. Again it just doesn’t make sense for Netflix to do what they’d have to do to “punish” you like you’re thinking, they gain nothing and open themselves up to costly lawsuits. It doesn’t add up.
