Bristol Palin, the single mom and reality TV star whose mother is toying with a run for the White House, will sign copies of her memoir at the Mall of America, officials from the Bloomington shopping center said Monday.
Palin, 20, will appear from 6 to 8 p.m. June 29 at the mall's rotunda, bringing her back to the Twin Cites, where her family burst onto the national scene when her mother, Sarah Palin, accepted the No. 2 spot on the Republican Party's presidential ticket during the 2008 national convention in St. Paul.
Bristol Palin's book, "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far," co-written with Nancy French, is scheduled for publication by William Morrow this week.

But, you gotta check out the hate section, also known as "comments".
I’m a Sarah Palin supporter, but I just gotta wonder why Bristol is writing a book.
Pray for her safety.
*hand up*
So, we disapprove of purposely single mothers, unless we like the mothers of those mothers?
If she was the daughter of Sheila Jackson Lee, her determination to be a “single mother” would be feted?
Just wondering...
All that’s really missing is the double-wide....
No. We all wish she had aborted the baby or better yet had its head smashed in with a partial birth abortion. /s
‘Cause she wanted to?
I agree, this is really bad timing on her part. But, I would imagine that she has her Mom’s blessing.
The Strib has been running hard with this story on their web site all day. In an effort to stir things up, is my guess.
I expect trouble. I’m sure that there are multiple haters out there, loading up their bags of glitter as I speak...
Seriously, why would anyone in their right mind buy her book?
>>No. We all wish she had aborted the baby or better yet had its head smashed in with a partial birth abortion. /s<<
So any single mother who chooses not to abort her child is worthy of a book?
I guess the last stigma of “my baby daddy” is now lifted...
>>>Im a Sarah Palin supporter, but I just gotta wonder why Bristol is writing a book.
The almighty dollar. You got something against a girl earning a living?
>> Im sure that there are multiple haters out there, loading up their bags of glitter as I speak...<<
I merely ask for consistency. Either we have principles or we have an agenda.
We can certainly agree that all children should be kept. But we should not celebrate that simple and proper act as if it is something special. It should be the low bar, not the high bar.
Our memoirs book would sell better.
Odds of a glitterama are better than 50/50.
Maybe it’s a message to other teens about making right and wrong choices in life. I don’t know since I haven’t read the book. God knows her decision became national news because of her mother being the VP candidate so it’s not like the spotlight wasn’t on her. I have no interest in the book but if it pisses off liberals and the PDSers I’m all for it.
Could it be one of most chased things around?
There will be an incident, bet on it.
>>I have no interest in the book but if it pisses off liberals and the PDSers Im all for it.<<
Principles be damned...
What principles are being damnned?
Good for Bristol! I love the title.
The mediots will be falling all over themselves to cover her book tour...and they will surely be looking for the mote in Bristol’s eye while ignoring the log in their own!
Chosen single parenthood is NEVER to be celebrated.
Choosing to keep the child is good, but the decisions that led to single parenthood and the decision to continue single parenthood go against almost every single Conservative and Christian value.
My opening question remains: had this been the child of any given democrat, what would be the response? “Let’s all go the MOA to get her book!”
I think not. It would be snide remarks our out-and-out attacks on the low morals and values of them. We regularly make “baby daddy” comments on FR all the time for single mothers.
Are we consistent?
Doesn't everybody these days?
I think that [since her situation had been made public anyway] she thinks she might be able to help other young girls/women by talking about her own experiences. I know that is the reason she gave for giving speeches to young ladies through the Candies Foundation. From what I have read, she has helped a lot of girls and given them inspiration.
>>Don’t read the Old Testament much, do you?<<
It is a very big book and has a lot of stuff about she-bears killing children and sewing salt in the soil of the losers of battles and kings sending the husbands of desired women into war to be killed. So, you might want to narrow your query.
I am not asking about my reaction, I am asking about ours.
Why not? People might be interested in her story...if not, no one will buy it. If there is interest, she will make a boatload of money. Capitalism - love it!
80/20
Most likely, but who has time to write them? I’m still to busy just living to find time to write about it.
So, we universally supported the movie “Juno”...?
Afraid you’re right. I sure hope she has security with her. She is still so young and inexperienced with the ways of the world.
To support herself and her son?
Levi fell short.
Cheers!
“Im a Sarah Palin supporter, but I just gotta wonder why Bristol is writing a book.”
To support herself and her son?
Levi johnson is writing a book due out in the Fall. This is the Palins way fo getting her story out first. It also act as a way for Gov Palin’s supporters to deflect and defend the GOv when the left tries to use bristol against Gov Palin.
That must mean she will sell a lot of books.LOL
>>The OT also establishes the “You break it, you bought it” principle for unmarried sex.<<
That should also be the motto of “Trojans”...
cheers also :)
well she could have had an abortion like Barry goldwater’s daughters had....
Your general belief seems to be that Bristol’s behavior reflects negatively on the Governor, Correct?
Your general belief seems to be that Bristol’s behavior reflects negatively on the Governor, Correct?
OK...Let’s back up, my FRiend.
Nowhere in this thread have I promoted this book or Bristol or Sarah...
I was just pointing out how the Strib and it’s minions are pushing this event to stir the anti-Palin pot.
The comment section is filled with anti-everything-Palin.
On Saturday, I posted this thread...http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2736775/posts
There was a comment section attached to this story. It is now gone. Because the majority of the comments were..”GO HOME!!”
The Strib is the one with a consistency problem.
oh im sure that entered into it. but IMO it was an attempt to get her story out before the Levi/leftwing book hits in the fall.
>>well she could have had an abortion like Barry goldwaters daughters had....<<
I think I have already dealt with that non sequitur. Twice, by my count (maybe 3 times, I don’t like to go back and re-read my posts).
I love Sarah Palin. I think her family has been horribly mistreated by the press. But I agree with those who question why anyone would by Bristol’s book. She’s a teen who got pregnant just like a lot of other teens who made wrong choices. There is nothing book-worthy about that. She isn’t shedding light on any unknown problem. She has no life experience yet to write about. This is the bad side of the Palins. As much as I love and admire Sarah, the family does cash in on her fame.
As long as the unwed (or, as of a day or two ago, wed-but-liberal) mother is conservative/Christian, then they have a right to life and their babies should be celebrated.
But if their mothers are liberal, or another religion, their mothers should abort them.
I read those sentiments twice on a FR thread yesterday. Twice. From two different posters. I couldn’t respond because I was mobile, but I was so disgusted.
Only one single person disagreed.
FR is no longer pro-life by any reasonable measure if that sort of posting to go on unchallenged.
Hypocrites? Yeah, in spades.
Consistent? Not by any measure.
>>Your general belief seems to be that Bristols behavior reflects negatively on the Governor, Correct?<<
The converse. The fact she is Gov. Palin’s daughter bestows upon her no special exemption from what should be societal shame. Much less celebration for her decision for what is, in general, a bad decision for the child and society.
Single parenthood is bad. Bad for the person, bad for the child, bad for society. There should be great shame (and perhaps adoption) in the offing, not book signings and celebration.
Choosing to have the child is up there with choosing not to rob a bank (OK, a higher moral imperative) — choosing to do the right thing in a bad situation doesn’t elevate the decision. It just is doing the right thing.
It doesn’t undo the bad decision.
No one seems to be willing to answer my question: was this not Gov. Palin’s daughter would we be feting her?
1) get an abortion
2) marry the father
3) have the baby
4) put the baby up for adoption
She ruled out the first choice thank god. she tried the second choice twice. Levi run out on her twice. She choose to have and keep the baby because she and her family were able to support the child. since having the child Bristol has worked her butt off from being Dentist assistant, to DWTs, to giving speeches, making commercials and now writing a book and doing a reality TV show to provide for her child.
she has not forced the child off on her parents, she has not asked another man to support her child. she has shown her ability to be a great mother and provider for her child. she did not sign up for Gov benefits. She has shouldered the responsibility of motherhood and has provided for her child than 95% of the USA population has provided for their children and still that isn't good enough for you for some reason.
Do you think having a deadbeat father in his daily life who shows no maturity would have been better than Bristol deciding to take personal responsibility for her child?
>>But if their mothers are liberal, or another religion, their mothers should abort them. I read those sentiments twice on a FR thread yesterday. Twice. From two different posters. I couldnt respond because I was mobile, but I was so disgusted.<<
I agree. I was not one of those posters nor would I ever suggest such a thing. I agree that is disgusting and is an agenda-driven concept — and NOT pro-life.
>>Consistent? Not by any measure.<<
I am trying to help use not be like our foes — we either have principles or we simply have agendas (as I said upthread). If we wouldn’t fete Sheila Jackson-Lee’s single daughter then we should be not do so in this case.
On the third day of the second grade....
She probably wants to tell the story before Levi’s book comes out.
agreed. Levi’s book will be utter guttertrash.
