A Mexico win would serve as convincing evidence that Mexico is once again the unquestioned leader in the region. It would also provide a confidence boost for a talented young team that could wind up ruling CONCACAF for the foreseeable future.
And a United States win? If the US team can knock off Mexicos Golden Boys, it would give the Americans their third Gold Cup title in four tournaments and continued bragging rights in a series they've dominated for the better part of a decade. It would also give the current US team a head start on Mexico as both teams transition into a new era, an era that should feature an even stronger and more competitive USA-Mexico rivalry.

I’ve been trying to get the game over the Net, but no luck. For some strange reason univision is not connecting to the live feed! darnit
What’s the score now?????
2-2 Second half just started.
2-2 second half just started a minute or so ago.
3-2 Mexico. The crowd could be mostly deported, if anyone cares.
"....and the crowd goes crazy!"
Second time, heh. I’ll just let you do the updating if you like.
Just getting ready to post to you and ask you to do the updates, lol. I am going off line for the night. Hope the USA starts playing better. Night soccer fans.
Haha. Have a good night. I’ll update the thread with the score and whatnot then. Hopefully America gets back in form - they were playing pretty well to start.
It’s the battle of the lame defenses, so far.
It’s online at Univision’s site.
75 minutes in, still 3-2 in Mexico’s favor. A bit of diving and play-acting, but not much more in the last little while.
Mexico, 4 - 2. I posted too soon. Pathetic.
Ow! That one’ll go in the soccer basics book.
For sure. What was the half time speech? They haven’t recovered since being stunned by Mexico tying it up in quick succession. They looked almost like they came back worse.
A little over five minutes left, and Mexico is up, 4 - 2.
Estados Unidos de Mexico 4;
United States of America 2.
Does this count as a home or away game for us? The LA crowd was of almost one voice for Mexico.
That’s an L.A. tradition. El Tri has been the home team for twenty years.
When I watched the prior U.S. game, I had some hope because it looked like they’d finally gotten the midfield to realize its function was more than just playing the ball into the center then turn it over. Apparently they forgot all that today.
Chicarito gave them fits the whole day, glad he’s on my English side.
