My employer, in which I hold stock, is holding a election for the board of directors. For what its worth, I'd like to check out what political donations these people have made before voting. I remember doing this before, but I can't remember the website.
TOPICS: Business/Economy; Reference
KEYWORDS: vanity
Thanks!

Your state should have a database of local donations as well - either through Secretary of State or an ethics office or something else; it varies state to state. Some donors only work locally and won’t show up on the OpenSecrets site, so it’s good to check both avenues.

Any donations of $200 or more (I believe that's the latest number), have to be reported to the Federal Election Commission.

Anyone know how to look up who an organization donates to?
I am trying to find out who the Florida Education Association donates to.

Thanks!
Turns out there are a lot of Obama /Democrat donors on my employer’s board of directors. At least I got to vote against them.

:) Of course it is democrats but during the Tennessee Teacher’s Union issues I got a flyer that told me that the Union donated to Gay and Lesbian groups, Socialist groups etc. Just wondering where that information could be found.

Be sure to check for PAC info while you’re at it. Corporate types can donate to PACs as well as to candidates :)

In MA it's called the Office of Campaign and Political Finance. It is under the purview of the Secretary of State.
