Austin Police say the body of missing person Jamie Minor was found in a Perry's Steakhouse exhaust duct at 114 West 7th Street.

Police said there is no evidence to indicate foul play was involved in her death.

Detectives discovered a deceased person in the duct between the first and second floors of the building in an area that was not readily accessible.

Mmm... I think I smell a delicious steak ... and also ...kind of a hint of decaying body ... must be dry aged.

Why in the world did she want to get into Perry’s steakhouse so bad? Sounds like drugs? Weird behavior.

That place looks awesome. The menu is pricy, but looks delicious. I am actually setting the laptop down now to find some meat to eat it made me so hungry.

Police say no foul play??!!

Ridiculous.A death like this raises lots of questions.Such as was she murdered and her body hidden inside the building as was done in one New York case last year?

I guess if you die strangely but aren't "important" the authorities just don't care.

If you watch the video and read the story, they said she used to work at the steakhouse, but she was now a greeter at a hotel (she was a pretty young woman). She was acting “erratically” (whatever that means) and her boss sent her home.

Next they said there were videos of her trying to get into her old restaurant workplace.

In the video the police said they found her personal possessions along the ductwork, and she was found in an area where the ducts sloped down and it looked like she was trapped. Horrible.

Didn’t we see this plot on NCIS one time?

This comment is on a par with obama’s comment about the Cambridge cops.
Reread the article and think about the illogic of your comments.

Police say no foul play??!!

The PD has surveillance video of her trying to get into the building via two side doors and the parking garage. She did manage to get into the parking garage and into the ventilation system. She was wanting to meet a friend, and let her belongings outside the vent system. She got trapped between the first and second stories. Big story in Austin news today. Sad RIP.

Do they know if she was trying to get into the restaurant while it was still open, or was she trying to break in after it was closed?

To me it sounded like something a burglar would do, but maybe she had something else in mind. Hard to say.

She had worked there as a waitress and lost her job. She was also bipolar. She was a very pretty woman (see picture at the link below).

Here is part of the article posted on the Statesman site:

May 23 as a hostess at the Trace restaurant at the W Austin Hotel. But her co-workers and supervisors became concerned because she was acting “erratically,” O’Brien said.
.......
“What we believe for reasons we don’t quite understand yet \u2026 is that Jamie entered the parking garage, went to the third floor and forced entry into the duct system, attempting to get into the restaurant that was located on the ground floor because she had a friend who worked there,” O’Brien said.

It seems strange to me that she would even be aware of the existence of that exhaust duct system.
