No I am 5 foot 4 inches. I wanted to lose some weight. And it feels great. I am very happy about it.

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list

“Whatcha Doin’?”
July 2, 2011

While staying at our house for a while, my granddaughter Addie began asking, “Whatcha doin’ Grandpa?” over and over. Whether I was working at my computer, putting on my shoes to go outside, sitting down to read, or helping in the kitchen, she sidled up to me and asked what I was doing.

After answering her a few dozen times with, “Paying bills,” “Going to the store,” “Reading the paper,” “Helping Grandma,” I came to the conclusion that she was asking a key question.

Answering to a curious little girl about everything we do is one thing, but answering to God about our actions is infinitely more important. Wouldn’t it be helpful to think of God coming alongside us at any time to ask, “What are you doing?” Imagine how often our answers would seem meaningless or empty.

“I’m spending the entire evening watching TV.” “I’m eating more food than I should.” “I’m going another day without talking to You.” “I’m arguing with my spouse.” The list could go on—to our embarrassment.

We are told to use our time carefully—with God’s glory in sight (1 Cor. 10:31; Col. 3:23). Paul said, “Be very careful, then, how you live” (Eph. 5:15 NIV). So, it’s a good question. God wants to know: “Whatcha doin’?”

We’re all accountable to God
For how we use our time each day;
Are moments chosen carefully,
Or wasted mindlessly away? —Sper

Beware of spending too much time
on matters of too little importance.

A wonderfully sweet story today, Mr. Mayor and we thank you! We must thank the Lord that we are able to have a 4th of July celebration once again and not leave him out.

Darling yorkie, yorkie! Its always Caturday/Dogurday...I love them both! I have to run to store to get ingredients for what I’m making to take to Greg’s tomorrow night for his big fireworks party.

Gotta watch those closing arguments in that trial in the morning. I’m addicted to that trial! Good thing I’m not on that jury (knowing what I know.) LOL! Some of those jurors said they didn’t know anything about that murder when they were interviewed. I believe I could sell them some swamp land, don’t you. They must have been living under a rock!!

Thanks Meg. We had a solid white cat one time and were so crazy about her. She used to love to lay on the mantel downstairs here and see what was going on.

I am hooked, too. Tomorrow could be a long tedious day.

It was brought up this morning, that the defense didn’t bring up “ONE SYLLABLE” of evidence that proved their opening statements, during the entire trial. What is that about? Is that legal - to tell the jury that they are going to prove “dark secrets”, “incest”, “proof that the Caylee drowned in the pool”, “that her father and brother touched her inappropriately”, yada, yada, yada....?

If I were the judge, I would have demanded that they back up their words with solid evidence - or admit to the jury they made it all up.

Openings are not evidence..so they can promise anything..but they pay if they don’t deliver.

I am anxious to see what the judge allows the defense to say in closing...I’ve heard the rules are different for those.
