If you are in Arizona, try the bacon ice cream and bacon brittle at Sweet Republic, or the approximately 1 dozen bacon dishes at Citizen Public House. Both in Scottsdale.
Last month I had my first ever piece of chocolate covered bacon...really yummy..
On a serious note, how could we be short of bacon? Hogs are running wild all over most of Texas and other states I feel sure. Bacon comes from hogs. I saw wild hogs on our ranch south of Houston yesterday. Hogs multiply like ............ like rabbits or like hogs! Anyone want to go hog hunting?
Yoder’s sells canned bacon. There is also “MRE bacon”. Open can and serve, 2 year shelf life.
I'm going to try to sneak some chickens past the HOA, but I'm afraid a pig is pushing it. Good luck to you.
Wait just a danged minute here! Have you been hunting on our place without permission? :D
I musta misunderstood...thought it was an *open* invitation. Maybe it's not too late.
Deuteronomy 14:8
The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses.
Leviticus 5:2
“’Or if a person touches anything ceremonially unclean—whether the carcasses of unclean wild animals or of unclean livestock or of unclean creatures that move along the ground—even though he is unaware of it, he has become unclean and is guilty.
Leviticus 11:3
You may eat any animal that has a split hoof completely divided and that chews the cud.
Deuteronomy 14:7
However, of those that chew the cud or that have a split hoof completely divided you may not eat the camel, the rabbit or the coney. Although they chew the cud, they do not have a split hoof; they are ceremonially unclean for you.
Deuteronomy 14:9
Of all the creatures living in the water, you may eat any that has fins and scales.
AAARRRGGGGGG! You shudda asked first! Where are your manners!
