BAY VILLAGE, Ohio— A shocking case of animal cruelty is being investigated in Bay Village.
Two cats have been burned in a manner that seems to indicate it was intentional.
One of the animals is 8-year-old Heidi, a gray and black tiger striped cat.
Cathy Mohney says Heidi is a house cat who slipped out of the house on Lindford Drive last week.
"It was very unusual she wasn't right here on the porch," said Cathy. "She typically goes out just in the yard, if at all. She's normally an indoor cat."
While the Mohney's hung fliers around town and searched the neighborhood, two miles away near the Bay Village Family Aquatic Center on Bryson Lane a young boy and his friends found a cat hiding under a car.
"I told my friends we had to get the cat out from under the car so it doesn't get hurt," said Curtis Szelesta, 12.
After a lot of coaxing, Curtis finally got the cat out from under the vehicle and noticed she was hurt.
"She was squirming and the feet were all bloody and she smelled like ashes and it was disgusting to smell and see," said Curtis.
Curtis called his mother, Jennifer, who quickly rushed the cat to the Detroit Dover Animal Hospital in Westlake.
Because the cat's paws were burned, doctors thought the cat might have stepped or jumped onto a hot surface, but after lifting her tail they noticed severe burns to the tail and rectum.

I’d kill and bury, and not lose a seconds sleep over disposing of anyone who laid a finger on one of mine.
Prayers for those poor cats, and prayers for all the strays out there, dogs and cats, wherever they may be.

Thank you for the ping. Bay Village is an upscale neighborhood on the westside of Cleveland. Not that it makes a difference other than to point out animal cruelty happens everywhere.
I hope they track down who did this to these cats and there might even be more...
Just evil...but what this kid and his Mom did will hopefully bring some light onto these several cases!
Those who would do this are the soulless trash who are coming out of our schools these days. Brainwashed, propagandized sociopathic narcissists will make our task of restoring the honor, decency, and most important, Constitution of our Republic all that more difficult.
May G-d heal Heidi and the other cat, and may He keep them and other local pets safe.
Here’s hoping that the perp(s) slips up and gets caught. Too bad we don’t publicly hang real human debris anymore.
Anyone who can torture or doesn’t have empathy for cats and dogs are not healthy people. They are mentally deficient/damaged and a danger to society. THey were brought up by neglectful people. They need to be weeded out, locked up and/or put on medication.....
