My submission is that our justice system was based on the idea of judgement of our “peers” when the society (as a whole) practiced the judeo-christian tenets of biblical guidance...I contend that our Founding Fathers did not envision the society of peers to degenerate into “I’m ok, You’re ok”, not responsible for one’s actions, moral equivalency...
maybe, just maybe, jury by one’s “peers” is injudicious these days...

You raise very good points.
Our moral values have indeed been assaulted by not only secularism, but also by the effect of our racial history, most especially the affirmative action effects as a special category for “a special class”.
