Lancing the She Quit! Boil One Last Time

One of the more unsettling hallmarks of the unfair, often deceitful, and always unprovoked attacks on Sarah Palin is the way in which she is frequently castigated for doing things commonly accepted when done by others, but which somehow rise to a level of unconscionable effrontery when she does them. A good example is the way that she was excoriated for having posted on her website a map of the United States which used surveyors marks to denote vulnerable Democratic congressional seats for The Tea Party to targetin the 2011 midterms.
Leave aside for the moment the fact that Democrat operatives had created a similar such map using actual gun sight crosshairs (and not the somewhat more innocuous surveyors marks Palin had used) in laying out their aim for congressional map. Leave aside the fact that a Democrat candidate actually aired a commercial in which he repeatedly fired a rifle at a copy of the Obamacare bill.
Ignoring these facts as well as the fact that Jarod Lee Loughner was a demonstrably insane liberal who had stalked Gabrielle Giffords for the past several years, and had most probably never even looked at Sarah Palin website, nonetheless the extremist left immediately started blatting into every microphone and TV camera they could find that it was clearly Sarah Palin who had caused the lunatic to shoot the Congresswoman.
I use this example to_underscore_the clear double standard employed whenever the extremist left decides to opine on Gov. Palin. Turning our attention now to another of the Lapdog Lamestream Enemedias frequent mantras concerning the governor, let's take a comprehensive look at their assertion that she should not be considered for future office because she quit." The way that canard is presented, one might easily believe that it is something offensive and out of the ordinary that Palin had decided to do. After all, with this act, she was turning her back on and walking away from her constituents and her elected post as governor.
Whereupon arises the question, what Senator, Representative, or Governor in the history of the Republic, did not in fact walk away from his constituency and elected position so that he could run for another office? Can you name one? Of course you can't. Every Sen. Rep. and Gov. who ever ran for a different office after having been elected to their current one walked away from their constituency and their elected post in order to do so. It's a common practice. It's a commonly accepted practice.
Unless, of course, Sarah Palin tries to do it.
Even more insidious in the use of this strawman when attacking the governor is the fact that she did not run away in leaving her governorship. She put the reins of the state in the hands of her very capable lieutenant governor Sean Parnell, turned and charged into the teeth of the beast that was assailing her. And proceeded to royally kick its butt.
Speculation was rampant and predictions were unending that this marked the death knell for the poor governor. The path of her political ascension had reached its zenith, and she was in a fire and smoke trailing tailspin headed for political obscurity. Nobody the day after Gov. Palin stepped down predicted that she was about to publish two best-selling books. Nor did they predict that she was about to embark on a series of speaking engagements commanding six figure compensation. Most assuredly, nobody even thought of suggesting that she might mount a series of campaign endorsements, often times for obscure candidates trailing badly in the polls, the majority of which would then win elected office creating the Republican Revolution of 2010; the single largest party shift in control of the House of Representatives in the history of the Republic (whereby Sarah would be most appropriately crowned Kingmaker).
Just to recap, Sarah Palin did indeed leave her governorship to move on to bigger and better, and far more meaningful (not to mention unpaid) contributions to the political ship of state. Just as had every elected official in American history before her, Sarah left the Alaska governorship to pursue higher goals prior to the conclusion of her full-term. The main difference being none of the other elected officials who had undertaken this commonly accepted practice were ever so roundly and universally excoriated as a quitter for having done so.
As a fitting end to this story of truly unique practices and outcomes, Sarah Palin is quite likely shortly to announce her candidacy for President of the United States in 2012. Should she do so, the most likely outcome will be that she defeats in a landslide the most badly failed president ever to hold the Oval Office.
The irony, and oh-so poetic justice, of just such a scenario is most certainly not lost upon those who still admire and will always support so unfairly mistreated a hero as Sarah Palin.
Sorry, not buying. I love Sarah Palin. It is a spectacle of amazing evil that the Left so single-mindedly attacks her. But I don’t support her in a run for POTUS because....she quit. Sorry, it isn’t a boil, its a fact, and it doesn’t need to be lanced.
Someone else (capable yes) can run alaska and someone else can be the POTUS. She can contribute tremendously to the cause without running and that’s what I hope she does.
I will vote for Sarah again.
Prepare thineself — thou hast cast unkind words upon the Holiest of Holies and Her acolytes will NOT be amused...
The idiot lamestream can blame their pitiful, pathetic selves for this meme not sticking because they went after her for a plethora of smears and lies, so now 1/2 term governor is meaningless in light of the facts surrounding her selfless resignation!
GO SARAH ALL THE WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE!
I happen to agree and would prefer Sarah Palin, but if you think there’s such a thing as “One Last Time” on this topic you’re on crack.
That’s right. She should have “selfishly held onto power”. As the NYT would have reported on her as she fought endless frivolous lawsuits.
My concern is about what happens if she is running for POTUS and the same type of attacks continue.
I don’t understand why as Governor she was not able to marshall state resources against these foes and crush them.
Baraq Obama has a master’s degree in “operations” from the Chicago political mob.
Not by me. Responding to ignorant posts only serve to distract from the message of the original post. Only responding now in the hopes others will read this and do the same.
I state quite clearly that this is the last time I'll "lance the boil." And it is. For the first time as well as the last, I point out that every sitting elected official in history, who ever chose to run for higher office, abdicated his seated position to do so.
I did not state nor imply that the pure logic or unchallengable truth of this fact would preclude imbeciles continuing to pretend that they have something to gain by mindlessly, usuelessly repeating their inanities.
That's just what imbeciles do, and none of us will ever change that.
I tried crack once, but I didn't inhale. < joking >
Right. And we love you. Honest. Yeah...
Ain't love grand?
In every other State in the Union, if the Governor is sued, the State Attorney General, by Law, represents them in Court.
In Alaska, by Law, the Governor is not represented by the State A. G., and must pay for their own defense. Now you know why... because it's the Law.
after that, who cares.
I would vote for Gingrich over Perry just because he is an idea man that has been there before. Perry is OK, but in Texas, we don't have an income tax and are a right to work state, so the results are actually baked in pretty much unless you muck it up. Perry has tried to muck up a few items so I think he will be a let down after his anal exam by the MSM. Sarah has had every orifice examined twice over and is still standing.
I love Sarah, but she may be making a mistake waiting too much longer. Bachmann people will think twice before switching and many have already sent money. Sarah will make a big splash, but Bachmann is already in the breech.
The Governor of Alaska cannot draw on state resources to defend herself against ethics charges.
Which sounds like a fair-minded rule, but it turned out to be a target painted on Palin (or any Conservative Governor of Alaska I guess).
Not to worry. In the end Palin gets to be President, and leftist losers get to ask themselves where it all went wrong.
You needn't "buy" it. In fact, you can't buy it. It's not being offered as something you can choose to or choose not to accept.
It's fact. F-A-C-T. You can't buy it, you can't change it, and you can't dismiss it. It's there and it ain't moving.
You can cling to your PDS denial, but that's all you got. Every sitting elected official who ever went after another elected position left ("quit") their existing job to do so.
You whining doesn't change a thing. No one single thing.
Deal with it. Should be easy... after all, you love Palin.
I can live with that. And I don’t even have to inhale! Just don’t think the morons in the LSM are going to get tired of it. Nor the naysayers on FR.
Not true. Joe Lie-berman did not resign from his Seanate seat to run for VP in 2000. In fact, he ran for both offices simultaneously.
Worse than that, he’s a *supplier* of crack! Great article however, so we’ll go light on him. Bob
So, you’ll vote for Obama because he didn’t quit? Wow, you’ve got some high powered brainz dere Jethro!
I believe she stated that Alaska Governors are the only Governors in the country that have to cover their legal fees, and that she had run up roughly 1/2 million in legal fees.
If someone can add to that.....
>>Not by me. Responding to ignorant posts only serve to distract from the message of the original post.<<
LOL!! You gotta love it!
Thanks, ud, for the confirmation!
Rippin, this is the first in a series, I assure you.
She knows exactly what she's doing. Let your love for her abide, and have faith in her strategy. The day she announces, in 24-48 hours she'll raise between $50-and-100 Million dollars.
Think about it... if her 3-Million Facebook fans send only an average of $20 each, that's $60 Million. Just that right there alone, and that is barely scratching the surface of the support she has nation-wide.
In every big Early Primary State, Sarah already has more than twice the organizational groundwork of all the other GOP wannabe's combined just waiting for the "Go!" signal.
Relax, it's going to be a long year-and-a-half. But it will be fun for all Palin supporters.
She made the only rational decision that she could make, so it doesn’t bother me one iota. James Burnham, I believe, said, “When there is no alternative, there is no problem”. Bob
You will never convince the IDIOT PDSers with facts. Nothing on this Earth will change their minds. I try my best to ignore their rants.
I hope you will forgive me, but I’ve been meaning to ask an established “quitologist” some questions, so I hope you will bear with me.
Here’s the first in the series:
Do you still hold the first job you ever held?
It’ll be fun only if it ends with America calling her “Madame President”.
OOps, I was slow.
“Don’t bother, they’re here...”
Sorry. It is true. I never said they all "resigned." I said that they turned their backs on and walked away from their sitting positions.
Because running for office is a 28-hour-a-day job. A Senator running for President still has all his/her constituents back home expecting and deserving representation in the Senate, but they have none, because their Senator is in DeMoines kissing babies and pretending he likes Latvians. He's attending fundraisers and campaign rallies, not votes on the Senate floor.
Read more slowly, really think about what you're reading, and you'll get this stuff the first time.
We not only don't need the idiot PDS'ers, we don't even want them. They are vermin who would assail a fine Christian woman with outstanding moral certitude and sterling conservative credentials just because the limp-di@& Liberal Press says they should.
They are non-entities; energy sucking, oxygen wasting refuse, the detritus of a decaying society who wouldn't recognize a brilliant candidate if one bit them on the ass... which this one is just about to!
“Itll be fun only if it ends with America calling her Madame President.”
When we hear the click click click of high heels in the hall leading to the East Room and the voice of Sarah Palin looking out the window and saying, Holy Cow!, I can see the Potomac from my House.
Geniuses, all of them!
Actually, the majority of the Palin supporters here will only shake thier head and think to themselves: “There goes another clueless lou!!” and then go about the normal lives.
Plus the full faith and credit of his puppeteer, George Soros!
>>Actually, the majority of the Palin supporters here will only shake thier head and think to themselves: There goes another clueless lou!! and then go about the normal lives.<<
You clearly haven’t been on the threads I have. And the underlying opinion is certainly prevalent. Bad thinking is not tolerated.
You painted every Sarah supporter with a wide brush, so I thought I would dispel the myth that ALL Palinista's attack.
Sarah could not get the sate of Alaska to pass a law against frivolous law suite against the Governor. The Democrats swarmed to Alaska to do as much damage to her as possible.
Given her popularity and fund raising ability, I can’t understand why money was even an issue. She should have hired the best lawyers and shredded the Dem b@stards.
Anyway, the VAST majority of Palin lovers here on FR just give justifiably brief notice to these inbred dunces and move on witout comment. A particularly vile or stupid post might be shared with chuckles (or knee-slapping guffaws) in private emails among the cognoscenti, but mostly they just aren't worth wasting time over.
You won't change their minds, and it was God's decision to make them drooling imbeciles. We have no place toying with that... it's above our pay-grade!
N'yuk n'yuk n'yuk!
That's precisely what she did... she won 19 of 19 lawsuits. But it was over a year after having stepped down that she came into million$ with the ridiculous success of "Going Rogue." Before then, she was just a hard working public servant with bills like everyone else... okay, plus a Governor's mansion.
I will add the real culprit: The Republican Party. The Republican Party quit Sarah Palin at a time when she could have used their help. Instead the Republican Party sat on their thumbs and watched Sarah Palin spin in the wind as phony law suit after phony law suit came upon her. They were hoping that these lawsuits would put Sarah out of the picture. The Republican Party are the quitters. Just like they are quitters on the many patriots around this country by sitting on the sidelines on their thumbs with their mouths shut.
By Alaska law, anyone could file an ethics suit against her at no cost to them regardless how frivolous. The floodgates were opened. Not only was the cost to her and the state crippling, but it tied her administrations’ hands on doing the state’s regular business. All efforts had to be trained on gathering proof to fight the lawsuits. Here she was, a VP candidate, and if a reporter asked her a question some idiot used that as an excuse to file a lawsuit: ‘She wasn’t doing Alaska’s business.’
