SANTA ANA, Calif. — Nearly 100 purported gang members have been arrested, along with weapons, cash and drugs, in what law enforcement officials are calling a devastating blow on local gangs and leaders of the notorious Mexican Mafia.

Among those named in one of several indictments unsealed Wednesday was Peter Ojeda, a Santa Ana native indicted in 2005 and currently in federal prison. But despite his incarceration, Ojeda is accused of continuing to hold a grip in Orange County's Latino street gangs, ordering punishment on local gangs that refused to follow his commands and giving the "green light" on rivals who tried to take his place as the leader of the Mexican Mafia in Orange County.

From behind bars, attacks under Ojeda's command were carried out in the streets of the county and in county jails, law enforcement officials said.

California has been instructed to reduce prison populations. What will they do with 100 new inmates?

They can release 200 people that are incarcerated for minor weed or alcohol offenses and keep the 100 Mexi-thugs and still come out ahead.

Maybe even give some white collar criminals the opportunity to buy their way out of jail (but still be on parole/probation).

Less than 100 arrests is a devastaing blow? One million arrests might have an effect.

CA prisons are full. They will have to let these guys go free so they can warehouse some 18 year olds we were finishing a roach in their bedrooms.

They made the mistake of going after “holder’s people” in LA rather than whitey like they were supposed to do as members of Diversity, Inc.
