HONOLULU (AP) -- Witnesses who watched a Northern California man get sucked into a Maui blow hole to his apparent death say that the tourist was dancing around and frolicking in the sprays of water moments before a wave knocked him down.
Rocco Piganelli, of La Jolla, Calif., said he stared in horror as he watched a large wave push the tourist into the hole off Nakalele Point on Saturday afternoon. The man popped up briefly with the next wave, then disappeared.

Blowhole is the name of a chick rock group that I manage!
I think it’s where there’s a beach-level cave with a hole on top. Waves crash into the cave and then blow out upwards from hole. The surf is pretty big in some places, so the resulting wind and spray updraft is quite strong. I don’t think a sane person would “frolic” around one of them, at least the ones I’ve seen.
Curiously, "Chick Rock Group That I Manage" is the name of my blowhole.
Same type of mentality that wants to get up close to the adorable grizzly bear and pet it, I’m afraid.....
I’ve seen enough movies to know that this guy is fine...he emerged in some other universe (probably with some hot babes), but he’s fine. The hard part now, for him, is to find the door back to our universe.

A different idiot plays at the same blow hole. We used to throw coconuts down it...
Similar case on Oahu a few years ago, forget the name of it, idiot was straddling the hole and the water lifted him up, tipped him over and away he went. Body was found a couple of days later.
You ever see the movie Fool’s Gold with Kate Hudson? If yes then Kate jumped into the blow-hole in that movie where the gold was...
