Mila Kunis Breaks Date With Marine?
Reuters ^ | Jul 13, 2011 | Tim Kenneally

Mila Kunis has reportedly broken her word -- and, along with it, one lonely Marine's heart.

Contrary to reports earlier this week, it appears that the "Black Swan" actress won't be attending the Marine Corps Ball with Sgt. Scott Moore in North Carolina this November -- because she has filming commitments that will keep her too busy for traveling.

Kunis accepted Moore's invitation to the ball after some prodding from her "Friends With Benefits" co-star, Justin Timberlake, on Monday. After Timberlake alerted Kunis to Moore's come-on, which he posted on YouTube, he urged, "You need to do it for your country."

Kunis replied to Timberlake, "I'll go. I'll do it for you. I'll do it."

On Access Hollywood's live show Wednesday morning, Billy Bush noted that Kunis wouldn't be able to keep the date, since she'll be busy filming two movies in November, when the Marine Corps. Ball takes place. (Kunis is slated to star as Theodora in the upcoming Sam Raimi "Wizard of Oz" re-imagining, "Oz: The Great and Powerful," for a 2013 release. It's uncertain what the other project would be.

It’s Hollywood.

Creeps, self-centered, immature, irresponsible - and yet, 99% of the “stars” think their opinions should count more than ours on all political and social issues.

Bunch of misfits.

She should have considered her schedule before she made a commitment.

This is a thoughtless thing for a celebrity to do.
I’d come up with some way to make up for my goofiness if I were her. There must be something she can think of to make this right.

Lesson for the rest of us.

A person’s word has little to no meaning anymore.

I hope some SUPER-HOT babe steps forward and says “It would be an honor to be escorted to the Ball by Sgt. Scott Moore”.

To hell with this what’s her name w/boobs. Never heard of her before this ‘publicity stunt gone wrong’ happened.

Go Sarge. Hope you get lucky!!

I’d see where this leads first.. she made a committment on TV, it’s made the rounds and has been all over the news. Breaking it will have consequences. My guess is she’ll go.

i saw the clip of her answer the first time she heard of it. her first question was “When in November?” then she said she would do it. Maybe she plans to make it up to him.

She was quoted as saying “On second thought, I don’t want to go to the Marine Corpse ball after all.”

We don’t know if this is for sure or not. Movies get delayed all the time.

Some people's word has little to no meaning - the world has always been that way. For some people, their word is their bond - again the world has always been that way.

I hope some SUPER-HOT babe steps forward and says “It would be an honor to be escorted to the Ball by Sgt. Scott Moore”. I would be just as happy if this actress (who I had never heard of) said, "I over-committed for a movie and the Marine Ball at the same time, and I apologize for my mistake, but would I'm hoping Sgt. Scott Moore would be willing to attend the _________ (academy awards/Oscars/opening of my movie) with me?".

She should have considered her schedule before she made a commitment.

My first thought that it was pressure from her Hollywood "friends".

Same thing that Seinfeld did, though not quite as bad.

I'll just add her to my list of performers to avoid if possible.

Integrity is what separates the Marines from the rest of the world.

Ego is the defining character trait for Hollywood.

I hope someone from Nashville steps forward to ask for the privilege to accompany this fine Marine to his Birthday Ball.

Yeah, and we all know an actress cannot take a single day off during a shoot, with 4 months of warning...

Maybe Taylor Swift can find the time(if’n her dad lets her). MOST Female Country Music Stars are MUCH classier anyway!

Perhaps the Marine should have considered that it was unfair to put a girl on the spot like that.

She could have politely thanked him for the invitation, then just as
politely decline it immediately, and I doubt anybody would have
any hard feelings, let alone fallout from it.

OTOH, nothing ventured, nothing gained, from the Marine's POV.

Lesson to you, don't believe everything Reuters reports, especially when there's no direct quote from the subject involved. Otherwise, it's just printed gossip.

I can’t believe you people believe every headline you read without considering the source. Oh, yes, I can.

Since this was posted Kunis has promised to attend. However, the real reason I felt the need to reply is that “Classy” and “Country Music” should never be used in the same sentence.

She could have answered in a number of ways, or not answered at all, and there would have been no harm done. She picked the worst possible course of action.
