Rachel Uchitel Returns Hush Money To Tiger Woods, Threatens Gloria Allred
TMZ ^ | 7-18-11

TMZ has learned ... Rachel Uchitel has given Tiger Woods back most of the settlement money he paid her ... and now Rachel is preparing to sue Gloria Allred, the lawyer who struck the deal, allegedly because Gloria sold her out for money.

As TMZ reported, Gloria negotiated a $10 million settlement for Rachel ... just hours before Rachel was going to hold a tell-all news conference about Tiger Woods. The settlement included a confidentiality agreement, which prohibited Rachel from talking about Tiger.

We've learned the agreement stated ... if Rachel violated the confidentiality clause ... she would not only have to return the money she received but Tiger could sue her for damages as well.

Sources tell TMZ ... several months ago Tiger's lawyer, Jay Lavely, contacted Gloria and said they were going after Rachel because they believed she violated the confidentiality agreement by allegedly speaking with TMZ and going on "Celebrity Rehab" to treat her "addiction to love" -- though she never talked specifically about Tiger on the show.

We're told Rachel felt strongly she had not violated the agreement, but Gloria allegedly convinced her she would lose if push came to shove, so Gloria struck a deal with Lavely -- that Rachel would return the lion's share of the settlement money.

I would say giving back the money does not release her from the terms of the agreement she voluntarily signed.

In about 5 months, we’ll hit the two year anniversary of this thing hitting the media. In that time, Tiger has not won a golf tournament, and the way the world rankings work, he’ll most likely be outside the top 50, maybe even out of the top 100 very, very soon.

Elin must chuckle from time to time, because his wrongs have basically completely done him in.

The severity and number of surgeries related to his left leg, are so bad, it is quite possible he never wins a tournament again. He basically needs to learn how to play golf off of the right leg, which is nearly impossible in a competitive sense. Or, he can play left handed?

WOrse yet, he seems to be suffering from the mental hazards of what he’s been through. And that might just be even worse than the physical injuries.

What is very surprising and nice, is how fast golf as a spectator sport has come back. The storylines are there, and the game is very interesting. You hardly hear mention of Tiger anymore, as compared to the incessant mention of him not being in a tournament over the last few years. One can actually see an entire tournament, and not hear him mentioned hardly at all.

A few of us playing golf yesterday, agreed that Tiger is going to need either a very strong new woman in his life, or to establish a relationship with God, possibly both.

Oh, but you can’t say that. Just ask Brit Hume.

Tiger Woods is annoying as hell. His flaming out was the best thing to ever happen to golf.

He acted liked like a child.

I think it’s safe to say that Jack Nicklaus’ record will be safe for quite some time.

That would be poetic justice...

UPDATE: Gloria just told TMZ, “Our law firm no longer represents Ms. Uchitel and we have no comment on this story at this time. However, we are confident that we have always acted appropriately and in her best interests.”

UPDATE: Gloria just gave TMZ another statement: “I was not involved in any way in the allegations set forth in the TMZ story which appears today and which references me. I have not had a conversation with or communicated with Jay Lavely about any client in more than a year. I am reserving all of my legal rights and remedies against anyone who defames me.”

Gloria Allred, closeted?????

I heard she has a daughter, Lisa Bloom, who is an attorney and is on TV sometimes.

But, I don’t know if Gloria had her the old fashioned way or how it happened.

It sure seems that some women come out as “lesbian” later in life, after having been with men most of their lives.

I hear you, I could never stand the guy.
I used to love rooting against the puss crybaby.
The worst part was watching the whole world kiss his butt.

I’m not exactly sad seeing his life fall apart.

At this year's Masters, after failing to close the deal after he'd gotten in the hunt, Tiger was curt and nasty in his post round interview. Rory McIlroy, who blew the lead and tournament in historic fashion, stood in the limelight and answered the questions as they came.

Two very different players.

As I read the article, yes. They entered into a settlement, she gave the interview, the Woods team threatened to sue her to get the settlement money back plus punitive damages as provided in the agreement and she agreed to pay back most of the settlement money in exchange for no litigation.
