JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Tiger Woods has decided to get rid of Steve Williams as his caddie.

Woods announced on his website Wednesday that he and Williams, who have been together since March 1999, will no longer be working together. Woods said only that it was time for a change.

Woods did not say who would replace Williams, or when he would return.

Williams has worked the last two majors for Adam Scott of Australia.

I wonder what the real story is. Here's what Williams has to say.

Woods, Williams Split

“After 13 years of loyal service needless to say this came as a shock. Given the circumstances of the past 18 months working through Tiger's scandal, a new coach and with it a major swing change and Tiger battling through injuries I am very disappointed to end our very successful partnership at this time,” Williams said.

“I have had the opportunity to work of late for Australian Adam Scott and will now caddie for him on a permanent basis. Having started my caddying career with Australian great Peter Thompson and working for Greg Norman in the (1980s) I am excited about the future working for another Australian.”

So what. It would ruin Golf forever. That must be the agenda. Next it will be “Green” courses that are weed infested and Brown because they will not be allowed water. The Blackification of Golf. Chavez wants to ban it in Venezuela.

One day Williams will have a book ghostwritten for him. Be interesting to see where Woods was getting his steroids.

John Daly couldn’t carry a golf bag and a cigarette and whiskey in each hand. It just wouldn’t work.

And besides, Daly’s wife likes to chase him around with a steak knife.

What’s an old white guy doing being a caddie for a young black guy? Shouldn’t it be the other way around? What’s this world
come to? (Sarcasm/Humor fully intended)

I mean, I’ve been a bureaucrat all my life and I take far more pride in that than saying I’ve been a caddie. Only a teenager should be caddie. Never a grown man !

My understanding is that pro caddies are like coaches in the field. Helping with club choice ect.
