Life Extension® has published 57 articles that describe the health benefits of walnuts.
Some of this same scientific data was featured on the website of Diamond Foods, Inc., a distributor of packaged walnuts.
Last year the FDA determined that walnuts sold by Diamond Foods cannot be legally marketed because the walnuts are not generally recognized as safe and effective for the medical conditions referenced on Diamond Foodss website.
According to the FDA, these walnuts were classified as drugs and the unauthorized health claims cause them to become misbranded, thus subjecting them to government seizure or injunction.
Diamond Foods capitulated and removed statements about the health benefits of walnuts from its website.
This radical FDA comes under the auspices of the radical White House. Go figure.... =.=
FDA needs to be shut down....they do a lot to destroy the health of Americans.....a bare bones operation that ONLY does research into PROBLEMS is all that is needed. FU FDA
Why was Diamond a target?
In a word, Diamond paid a bribe to make this go away. It may have been a filing fee or it may have been a campaign contribution. Make mistake, all these rules and regulations are about collecting money; one way or another.
This has been going on for decades.
The FDA can “cram it, with walnuts”
Passage of the Free Speech About Science Act will stop federal agencies from squandering tax dollars censoring what you are allowed to learn about health-promoting foods.
Our Legislative Action Website provides you direct contact with your Representative to let them know that you want H.R. 1364 (Free Speech About Science Act) enacted into law.
That's interesting. Something needs to be done to allow sensible discussion of the benefits of herbs and supplements without the threat of FDA action constantly hanging over those industries.
I eat walnuts almost every day according to the FDA.Does that makes me a walnut addict?
You can have my nuts when you pry them from my cold, dead hands.
