My cousin was gay. My aunt and uncle were the nicest people you could ever meet. I stayed over often in the summer as my dad had left and my mom was working, with my uncle effectively taking the role of surrogate father.
More meaningless socio-babble. It’s fairly self-evident that kids who are messed up enough seek out sodomite relationships would be more likely to have other serious problems in their lives.
So it’s sort of like a drug or alcohol addiction then, would you say? A desire remains, which must be controlled rather than indulged.
Not an easy life, I’m sure, once a child has been introduced to it. All the more reason why children must be protected from any and all exposure to it - also not an easy thing for parents to do, without cutting their families off from a large portion of society. If they fail at that task, life is going to get really hard for both parents and child.
Um. Pair each of them with one of the other three?
Hee hee! Can't resist! How do you know that??
Common sense, and urban living.
Homosexuals are youth obsessed and love teens.
Imagine being a teen, with a teens sex drive, in an all male sex world and being able to go to big cities where you are the hottest thing around in sections of town devoted to your sexual proclivities, would you need to settle down and get an apartment?
That’s because a lot of them come from dysfunctional families, which are the very reason they have self-identified as “gay or lesbian” in the first place. That is, to escape.
Pseudo means false. The following sentence should read:
Less than 5 percent of students overall identified themselves as GLB, yet they accounted for 19 percent of those who identified themselves as
homeless totally pissed off at their parents.
As in 'dysfunctional family. Someone may be mistaking cause for effect.
In any case, I can't see how one could be truely homeless and still attend high school. Where would they eat, shower, get money? This 'study' sounds like just another 10's of thousands of tax-payer dollars wasted.
I have two nephews, brothers. Both are gay. Figure the odds on that. They are from a loving family. These guys are 41 and 35 respectively, and both doing very well. They are neither promiscuous nor flamboyant. Their dad, a super macho dude, loves his sons, no matter what. I get along very well with these boys, one of whom I’ve converted to conservatism. The other is too busy making buckets of money in the interior decorating racket.
No, those are parents that know that their children must grow up and stop looking for sympathy. Crying “I’m gay” is just a ploy for sympathy. They need a dose of reality.
They may eventually become gay because they have no sense of themselves but they probably never will.
They are ships without rudders and they will flounder till they die (or wise up). Parents often force them to make the decision to be responsible or follow the cry baby life style of “I’m gay”.
Gay people reject being normal. Watch HGTV and you will notice that all of the gay designers have earrings and tattoos with goofy haircuts and beards and wear bright-colored fashions-—they don’t want to be like everyone else. They reject what’s normal or expected. So it makes sense that some of them would be homeless because a normal homelife doesn’t fit with their new lifestyle. They don’t fit in and will search for something that will fit with their lifestyle.
I am certain that some people, especially males, are 'born gay'. This is based on observation of my family and kids I grew up with. I am just as certain that for many, it is a choice and an act of rebellion.
I certainly don't mean to imply that all gays are simply acting out rage of some kind. I know better. When you consider as well the existence of bi-sexuality, and the changes in sexual orientation that occur in mid-life, it gets very complicated. Too complicated for explanation by blanket attitudes, including the 'gay gene' explantion.
I strongly feel one should never hold or show hostility to anyone solely for being gay. I apologize if I bruised anyone's feelings with my post. But I have seen the voluntarily homeless youth in downtown Portland, and I know the games they play to get free housing, etc. They live pretty well on the 'streets' of that metropolis, plus they can afford to buy their drugs of choice. I think it's a fine line sometimes between discrimination or bias and catering to someone's self-declared specialness.
As regards my nephews, it’s the former and not the latter. Why would anyone voluntarily subject themselves to abuse?
There are countless former homosexuals. There is help but of course homosexual activists hate that fact like bitter poison and young people may not even know of such help.

The fact is that homosexuality - Same Sex Attraction Disorder - is mental illness. Often accompanied by other destructive emotions and behaviors. And since the lie is told that "if you have one 'gay' thought/attraction/experience - you are born GAY and can never change" - no wonder young people struggling with same sex attraction are miserable and have a host of other problems in their lives.
Homosexuals are not born that way and there is much help available, there are many former homosexuals. Great thread with much info and links:
