Sgt. Dustin L. Williams will have to find another date to the Nov. 10 Marine Corps Ball. His first choice, A-lister Scarlett Johansson, won't be able to make it.
In an exclusive statement to Zap2it, Johansson writes:
"I feel incredibly honored to have been invited to the Marine Corps Ball by Sgt. Dustin L. Williams. Not only does Sgt. Williams deserve recognition for his bravery, selflessness and dedication to the United States and its people, but he also displays a cheeky talent for film making.Sgt. Williams, unfortunately due to prior commitments I will not be able to attend the Ball with you this year but I am sending you a case of Moet and Chandon with gratitude. In my absence, I raise a glass to you and all the men and women of the U.S. Marine Corps, past and present, in thanks for your continued commitment to preserving the safety of our nation."
Sgt. Williams' invitation to Johansson to the ball was only one of the latest in a string of YouTube invites from Marines asking various celebrities to attend the annual Marine Corps black tie event.
Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake were the first to be asked, and accept. "Terminator" star Linda Hamilton also accepted her invite. Betty White sent her regrets and, as far as we know, Miley Cyrus hasn't yet responded to her invitation.
When we asked Williams what he would do in the event Johansson said "no," he replied, "If I was told she could not attend, I would understand. I would not believe the invitation would be denied without good cause. With her current career I would imagine Scarlett Johansson is a busy woman."
What a guy.
He can always ask Barbara Striesand, not to the ball, but to the target range. ( she can learn to appreciate the training our great Marines receive)
Too bad... that would’ve been the date of a lifetime. IMHO Scarlett is one of most beautiful women to grace the planet.

It is best for this Marine not to associate with this actress who openly chooses to side with evil. Finding a virtuous and famous actress will be difficult.
