Ya think?

Here's video of a vintage North American FJ4 doing the same thing just a little while later: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Ub7PFQSQFkI

Looks like the SIB will have lots of pics to look at on this one. I’m also glad the plane didn’t turn over since the pilot elected not to punch out.

Not only airframe damage, trashed the engine by injesting several cubic yards of sod while at full power.

Someone’s flight career just took a dump.

Oshkosh Airport is extremely dangerous during the EAA. So many planes coming and going with only two runways>3500 feet. It is the busiest airport in the world for that week. There is a video on youtube of a pilot in a Cherokee being directed to land in between two P-51s, and the spacing between the planes is so tight he has to take emergency measures to slam the plane down onto the runway so he doesn't hit the P-51 in front of him.

I am only a student pilot, but I will neverfly into Oshkosh for the EAA.

Well, not full power.

He was landing...

Still... yeah - the engine is probably trashed.

Seems he couldn't get it stopped - whether due to water on the runway, too short a runway, who knows...

No worries. If pilot incompetence is determined, he can land a job at any number of govt agencies.

No problem, that'll buff right out.

And something tells me that a certain Alabama National Guard pilot will have lots and lots of one weekends a month and two weeks a year to dedicate to doing the buffing because he is no longer on the flight rotation roster...

He broke my F-16!!!

Viewing his exhaust shows alot of flame still coming out. He couldn't have been in burner so I'm guessing FOD ingestion.

Look at the slide show, he did go to full power after leaving the runway, had full up elevator as well, he (or she) was trying to power out of it.
