Everyone should see Weird Al Live, at least once, saw him last year, and he puts on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

Yep. We took our kids to see him at the Puyallup Fair here in Wash. State, while he was on the Poodle Hat tour (hubby still has the t-shirt). He's a great entertainer. FUN show, and I got to sit there with my McCain/Palin sign, too! In true-blue liberal land.

If you haven’t heard this one yet, this is pure brilliance from Weird Al

I remember MTV not playing this Kate Bush video because it was "too erotic" LOL.

I was 15 and it does not seem like it was all that long ago.

Friday Night Videos had a bigger impact in my area. We didn’t get cable till 84 and by 85 we had moved to another house without cable. Still no cable at that house, just sat dishes.

And this was in Connecticut, one of the most densely populated states in the country then (and now). I just happen to live in the most rural part of the state, where we used to have fun jumping into cow pastures, waiting for the bulls to chase us and jumping over the stone walls.

Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” is still haunting.

My favorite was "Cloudbusting" with Donald Sutherland. Heck, I remember when she appeared on SNL.

My favorite MTV memory came in the early 90’s when I was 19 years old. First, there was an En Vogue “Free Your Mind” PSA about equality for women or some nonsense. The very next shot was from MTV’s Spring Break coverage, where a bunch of dudes were holding women by their ankles, pushing them across the beach like wheel barrows to a pit filled with Jell-o, where the ladies raced to eat the Jell-o like dogs.

That was the last time I ever voluntarily watched MTV.

My fav early video is Scandal’s “The Warrior”

Not because the video was all that great, but just for Patty Smyth.

As a early 80s vid, I’d say Duran Duran were the masters, with “Hungry Like the Wolf” my fav. They made videos that told a story rather than just imitating live performances like so many of the early MTV era. The video is almost 30 years old (1982) and it is still pretty impressive.

As far as Kate Bush, for me it has to be Wuthering Heights.

Stunning vocal range.

Ah, I remember 20 years ago watching part of a drama on MTV. Only made through 15 minutes, because it was soooo banal.

I remember when MTV was just that - Music Television.

I’ve never heard the song by R Kelly...but I did watch the video, and had to share it on my FB page. Here’s what I posted along with the vid: “I can’t believe I watched the whole thing. I did laugh, it was strangely compelling, and now I’m wondering if I just wasted 11 minutes of my life?”

Fun!

The first MTV video I ever saw was the very peculiar Ashes To Ashes by David Bowie. If I recall correctly, he was doing a sort of strange, slow Mummer's strut up a twilight beach in a clown suit. Couldn't quite decide if it was eerie or ridiculous. It was both, in hindsight, the video that is. Still enjoy the song.
