My mother didn't beat me - it was just a joke says Fergie as she backtracks on abuse claims
Daily Mail ^ | 12:16 AM on 31st July 2011 | By Sharon Churcher

Posted on 07/31/2011 4:28:25 PM PDT by Niuhuru

Just two months ago, she accused her mother of horrific abuse in an emotional outpouring on American TV. Her late mother, Susan Barrantes, regularly beat her, the Duchess of York alleged during her reality show Finding Sarah.

'When she used to hit me because I didn't sit on my potty or wouldn't eat, a little vein would come up on the centre of my head near my red hair,' she said, adding that her mother called it the 'sign of the devil' and would shout, 'I'm going to beat that devil out!'

Ah, the joys of childhood memories.
I remember my parents lashing me to the kitchen
table, clamping the electrodes to my toes and
cranking the telephone generator madly while
cackleing, “Long Distance! Long Distance! Sonny.”

My cousin has a 8 mm film when I was six years old. We’re all sitting at the table having dinner. My mother reaches for a biscuit and I duck. My mother would hit me and my siblings with whatever she could get her hands on.

Its pathetic. She has to do something to stay in the public eye. She’s put the weight back on so no more Jenny Craig commercials. And now she’s really showing her age too. So what’s a fat old cow to do? Give interviews about getting beaten.

Most of us here are old enough to have grown up getting spankings - I would never classify that as beating. I don’t find her remark funny at all and even sadder is that she feels now she has to back track and call it a joke instead of admitting what happened. She gave too much detail to later claim it was a joke.

You know, this is off the cuff...so I don't pretend to be defense counsel here....However, I watched that particular episode (don't ask why, I just kind of started watching this program, don't usually watch much tv)...I remember when she said it...kind of tongue in cheek, bittersweet.

I did not get the impression that she was trying to portray herself as a victim of vicious physical child abuse.

Anybody else see the episode?

A judge in a custody case told a little boy that he could live with his mother.

"I don't want to live with my mother!" sniffed the boy. "She beats me!"

"In that case," said the judge, "You can live with your father."

"I don't want to live with my father!" cried the boy. "He beats me too!"

"Well, then," said the judge, exasperated, "who do you want to live with?"

"The Philadelphia Eagles!" chimed the lad.

"The Philadelphia Eagles!" cried the judge. "Why them?

"Because," replied the little boy, "they can't beat no one!"

Fergie has always had issue’s.

I believe she was jealous of Diana and the way the press treated her as opposed to the way she was treated by the Media

She was once a pretty girl who probably was good in the sack, now she is a worn haggard woman who wants attention. Her free spending is gone ,her looks are gone, she has little left.Including her credibility.

As for Sarah Ferguson - I have never seen such out of control attention seeking. Even when we were 10 year olds, I think we were more mature than she is.

Of course Alec Baldwin was only joking on Conan Obrien when he threatened to kill Henry Hyde and his family.

http://www.mediaresearch.org/cyberalerts/1998/cyb19981215.asp#5
On the December 11 NBC show host Conan O’Brien wrapped up his interview with Baldwin by asking Baldwin about Clinton’s plight. Baldwin answers but as he proceeds his voice rises as he jumps up from his chair and is screaming and flailing his arms by the time he’s finished. Cutting to the punch line, O’Brien then jumps up and puts an air mask over Baldwin’s mouth to calm him down. Funny political satire or, even if meant in jest, mean-spirited and violence-inciting words that would be condemned if uttered by a conservative?

Here’s the exchange as transcribed by MRC news analyst Paul Smith.

Conan O’Brien: “Before we leave, I gotta ask you. It’s no secret that you are very political. You are a very political person. It’s no secret that you have actually had some associations with the Clintons. That you’re a liberal man and I thought you know today, this is a historic day and you’re one of the most politically active actors out there. What do you think?”

Alec Baldwin: “I was in Africa. I go to Africa. I mean ladies and gentlemen I am in Africa. For three months I am in the bush and I come back. I come back here and I come back to what? I mean what is happening right now as we speak? Right now the Judiciary Committee, the President has an approval rating of 68 percent. The President is very popular and things are going pretty good and they are voting to impeach the President. They voted on one article of impeachment already. And I come back from Africa to stained dresses and cigars and this and impeachment. I am thinking to myself in other countries they are laughing at us twenty four hours a day and I’m thinking to myself if we were in other countries, we would all right now, all of us together, [starts to shout] all of us together would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! [crowd cheers] Wait! Shut up! Shut up! No shut up! I’m not finished. We would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and we’d kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families. [stands up screaming] What is happening in this country? What is happening? UGHHH UGHHH!!!!”

Now, in your mind substitute the name Al Gore or Hillary Clinton for Henry Hyde and the name of a conservative for Baldwin. What kind of reaction would the media establishment be expressing?

Video here.

“”Most of us here are old enough to have grown up getting spankings””

And wonder of wonders, we survived to this ripe old age. Well, of course, I’m speaking for myself.

My cousins and I have had discussions about this in our “later” years - we remember all the spankings but we have to admit they didn’t really change anything. Our mothers were sisters and whether at their place or ours, the discipline was still the same. It was a look from the fathers that was more frightening, we all agreed!

And I could insinuate the same about your upbringing and your snarking... my broader point is there is no one size fits all answer or insight to these situations. The daughter might be stark raving crazy and it may have little or nothing or a lot to do with the kind of morality she grew up with.

The fathers are really expected (by God) to be leaders in their family. If they behave in a respectable way, force may often prove unnecessary to bring a wayward child back into line. As you said, the look (presumably of great disappointment) was what you feared. Force should be reserved for when other measures fail.

“believe she was jealous of Diana and the way the press treated her as opposed to the way she was treated by the Media”

It’s not like Diana had it easy either. I think she’s been jealous of one person after another her whole sorry life.
As much as I have disliked Diana, at least Sarah was able to make her own living, as opposed to Diana who had a palace for a home, was banned from working for money. Plus, Sarah made more than Diana was given as a settlement and Diana was just a kid when she married. No sympathy there. Her (Fergie’s) husband loved her a lot and she ended up throwing that away.
