Washington (CNN) -- President Barack Obama and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood on Wednesday urged Congress to immediately pass a temporary funding measure for the Federal Aviation Administration to put nearly 4,000 federal employees back to work and restart more than 200 airport construction projects.

The Democratic-led Senate went on its summer recess Tuesday without approving what would have been the 21st short-term funding extension for the FAA. The Republican-led House previously passed a short-term extension, but included some changes opposed by Democrats.

Amazing, an entire department is sidelined and its hardly covered in the news. Why can’t this happen to the EPA, DOE or ATF.

House bill sets 2008 spending levels, traffic has decreased 21% since then, AND forbids the new union organizing rule that says unions only need a majority of those who vote- not a majority of all employees- to win.

...would eliminate EAS subsidies to 13 airports that are within 90 miles of a larger airport.
Three of those airports are in home states of Senate leaders Rockefeller, Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) and Max Baucus (D-Mont.).

LMAO!

They need to hold the line on this and do exactly the same thing for the EPA, Homeland Security, Education, Energy, etc. budgets. If they don’t like it, they can go home until they get tired and pass them. Let the MSM whine and scream and call everyone children.
