Old ships were allowed to sit on the swamp and die, just rot away. That’s more than likely what this is, just a hulk that became more trouble to keep in repair than it was worth, dragged onto the shoreline and allowed to rot.
The cost of this great find is more than it is worth, cover the hole and get on with the construction.

Scientists from AKRF spent two days removing the newest piece, which measures roughly 6 feet long, 3 to 5 feet wide and approximately 1 foot tall.
For Pete's sake, you'd think it was a dinosaur bone encased in rock.
