I just called and was told the flag had not been lowered yet. Unbelievable!!!
You would think the white house staff would do this sort of thing without being told to do so by the resident.
It is a disgrace that this evens needs to be asked. Obama’s failed actions show his true distain for our Great Military.
The White House staff is busy with fundraising parties, vacation planning , and stuff.
Agree with most, but, why do these guys get the flag at half staff, when thousands who died before, did not.
(I am a vet.) If the flag lowering was publicized as symbolic as well to respect not only for the SEALs but also for ALL who had died before, I’d be with you on this.
But, he does have time to celebrate having a Ramadan dinner at the WH. I think it’s tonight.
obama can order the lowering of the flag for anyone he wants, I guess. But I have to ask, do we lower the flag everytime a soldier is killed in combat? I doubt you’re going to see it lowered.

Flag lowering has become meaningless here in Washington State where the governor has even ordered the flag lowered for DOT worker killed while removing a tree from the road...

My first reaction as well. I am strongly pro-military. And unfortunately, my position on this appears to be PC leaning, but I want ALL military to be given the respect they deserve.
This fool in the WH will use it to his own benefit in some way. Thus, I would rather they not until we get more deserving people in office.
Yep!!! I think lots of people are calling. Just a guess, this was posted on fb and is making the rounds. I just don’t get it. I understand what one person said what about all of our fallen. I guess it’s just so many died. And it’s all kind of strange how that happened. Something fishy or someone made a horrible mistake.
I wish we could at our house, but our flag pole is such that we can not lower it properly. So nice that you can lower yours properly.
Do the SEALs go through more extremely intense training and encounter more dangerous situations then the norm?

Two of the SEALs killed were from Shreveport. Gov. Jindal ordered all public building flags lowered starting this past Monday, through (IIRC) the end of the month.
I understand the sentiment and we should all grieve over this terrible loss.
Let’s be realistic We are at war. A soldier dies almost every day. Do you really think it’s appropriate to keep the flag at half mast every day?

It’s not customary to lower the flag for Ramadan.
I’m loathe to defend anything the Obama White House does... but I don’t believe that flag protocol has ever put the flag at half-staff for combat casualties. It’s just not generally done. Not that it would be wrong, but it would be uncommon, though the President can order the flag to half staff for any reason he chooses.
More dangerous, perhaps. But more so than a Marine Recon unit, or the guys doing deck duty on a Carrier, or the aviators flying CAS, etc....?
Seems to me anyone who gets bullets whizzing by his head, or missiles trying to work their way up your tailpipe, or the lowly grunt walking point on an IED laden road, are ALL deserving of the honor.
And if we use those criteria, then the WH flag would be at perpetual half mast.
It would be nice for these people to remember that a bunch of other GIs died along side the navy guys.
They often lower them in Nebraska when any Nebraska military die in combat. Generally they are lowered on the day of their services, if the services are in Nebraska, but otherwise a day is picked and announced.
For all we know, somebody in the WH dropped a dime on them.
What about the other (Non-SEAL) servicemen who died. Don’t they count?
Further, I’m of the opinion the men chosen to be on that clunker of a death trap WERE those who took part in that successful raid.
Further, I'm of the opinion the criminal alien has surrounded himself with the worst of the enemy inside our country; that they were forced into ordering the elimination of the leader of outside muslim terrorists, al-Qaeda, by the leader of terrorism within our borders - sitting inside our Oval Office.
May Almighty God embrace the best of our best into His Eternal Kingdom, and may His love console those families and friends immediately impacted by this avoidable, collusional and single-minded surrender by the enemy within to the enemy beyond our borders.
Just heard on local news that Gov. Bob McDonnell has declared Friday a day of mourning in Virginia and that state flags will be flow at half staff that day. Maybe if enough states do this Dumbo will get the hint, but I think he is too worried about jetting off to Martha’s Vineyard right now.

Since when is it common to lower the flag for ANY serviceman? If you do it for one, or even a group, why not all, every time? I could see problems with this.

If you cannot lower the flag, it is proper etiquette to put a black ribbon above it.
