I love Bourdain’s show on Travel Channel. Of COURSE he’s going to make fun of the competition on the Food Network! I’m wondering how Sandra Lee tore into him. Her “boyfriend” is the Governor or New York, after all;-)

Chain smoker and other substances I believe.

This guy is the worst type of crap in the mouth New Yorker. Can’t get by on his own talent, so he stirs up attention going after other people.

I’m not a Paula Deen fan, but give me a break.

He stopped smoking years ago when his daughter was born. I think he cleaned up his act a little when he married.

He is right about Deen, of course. Burgers on glazed donuts! I love Southern cooking but she gave that up for pure excess.

Both have their faults but at least he is trawling for good tasting food.

I can’t remember who said this, but he/she claimed that Southern cooking was basically about sugar, fats, and alcohol.

But what would I know? I’m from California. I like my salad crisp and with avocado, my rib steak rare, and full-bodied red wine to go with both.

Okay it's Friday and we've had a rough week (and I've lost a ton of money). So what can be better than a good food fight?

I actually like Anthony Bourdain and he's got some talent as a writer. I read Kitchen Confidential and can recommend it as a good look into the Restaurant World. But the guy really is overbearing. He's a typical North Eastern Liberal who's full of himself. He's got a habit of bad mouthing a lot of people. Who in the world could find fault with a guy like Emeril Lagasse or Bobby Flay? They seem to be good guys. Bourdain trashes both, particularly Lagasse. Outrageous.

But having said that he's got a point of the unhealthy aspects of Paula Deen's cooking. I'm sure Deen's food is delicious but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is trying to lose or not gain weight. It's also fantastically heavy on sugar, fat and cholesterol. It's a Cardiologist's Nightmare. So Bourdain has a minor point here. You shouldn't eat the likes of Deen's food (at least very often) if you want to stay healthy.

Paula Deen seems to have a nice personality and an entertaining show. Anthony Bourdain, on the other hand, is probably a snob.

You know, hubby & I can’t stand Paula Deen. I mean, she is a nice lady, but even hearing about her food is enough to give you a heart attack.

But Anthony Bourdain?

There are people who don't care for Bourdain but I've found his ability to explain how food is prepared and put out is way beyond what we've normally seen.

He's had some truly great interviews with the best in the business.

NOTE: So that's the corrupt Andrew Cuomo's gumaw ~ hmm. That Souvrn' cooking is probably what's making him fat like the fascist pig he really is.

Bourdain apologized for trashing Emeril after he met him. As for Flay, I know someone who worked in one of his restaurants. She doesn't have much good to say. That friendly TV personality is an act.

You may be right about this. I have no knowledge whatsoever about Flay. But keep in mind that the restaurant business is a pretty tough business, so maybe Flay has to be a little hard-nosed to be successful. I don't know. He does come across as a likable person on TV. So it may in fact be an act.

Bourdain’s shows are simply outstanding. Deen cannot make a cup of coffee without a stick of butter in it. A revealing episode - which remarkably made the final cut - showed one of her sons scolding her for his years of weight battles due to how unhealthy their meals were.

I recall him making some snobbish comments about Pres. Bush in one of his programs. I believe it is part of him trying to create an "edgy" personality.

He smokes, drinks , eats a lot of fatty food and looks down on anybody that is not from the east coast.

‘Anthony Bourdain Rips Fellow Chefs’

“Anthony Bourdain recently sat down with TV Guide Magazine, and the No Reservations star didn’t pull any punches when it came to talking about fellow food personalities. A few key quotes:

On Paula Deen: “The worst, most dangerous person to America is clearly Paula Deen. She revels in unholy connections with evil corporations and she’s proud of the fact that her food is f—king bad for you...plus, her food sucks.”

On Guy Fieri: “I look at Guy Fieri and I just think, ‘Jesus, I’m glad that’s not me.’”

On Rachael Ray: “Does she even cook anymore? I don’t know why she bothers. To her credit, she never said she was good at it.”

On Sandra Lee: “There was an incident with Sandra Lee where I ran into her after criticizing her publicly. It was deeply terrible. Don’t mess with her. I rarely feel uncomfortable, but she has a powerful force. I hate her works on this planet, but she is not someone to be dismissed, clearly.”

Maybe it IS a New York thing. I liked Mario Batali’s show where he would cook for a couple of friends, showing off his (very extensive) knowledge and skills. Then I read an interview where he was just hating on Bush. Now I don’t care for him at all.
BTW, I’ve met Paula Deen in person and she is exactly like she is on TV. Very friendly and personable.

Paula Deen got to where she’s at because she started her own small buisness which became a successfull restaurant......Bourdain became famous because he wrote a snarky, snoby, book bashing people and someone thought it would be a good travel show.

Paula Deen still acts down home and Bourdain tends to act like his a celebrity and look down his nose at people.

On Guy Fieri: “I look at Guy Fieri and I just think, ‘Jesus, I’m glad that’s not me.’”

My BF's daughter is a pediatric RN at a world-famous California hospital. One of her terminal patients requested (I believe through Make-A-Wish) that Guy Fieri come and cook his favorite meal with him. Mr. Fieri did not have to be asked twice and went to the boy's room and spent hours in there with him. He wouldn't allow any pictures or any cameras in there either, nor any publicity whatsoever. The child was thrilled. I think he lived another couple of weeks.

So yes, Bourdain, I am also glad Guy Fieri is not you because you are an ***hole and God knows this world has enough of those.

Fieri, however, is a prince.
