DENVER Police in Denver were on the lookout Thursday for two gun-waving jewelry store robbers who threatened to shoot employees and customers.
As it turns out, the joke was on the two clowns who robbed Sonny's Rocks on South Colorado Blvd. Wednesday morning.
Their heist turned out to be a bust.
The two robbers, who were both dressed in bizarre costumes and wearing white face paint, pointed guns at employees and customers while they cleared the cases of jewelry.
They came in with their guns drawn, says store owner Mark Allen.
Surveillance video tape shows the robbers cock their guns as they enter the store.
Their faces are covered with heavy white makeup and their lips are covered in black. One is wearing a scraggly black wig, the other a long blonde wig.
It's surreal they came in with clown makeup on, says Allen. They were, like, in costume."
The surveillance video also shows the robbers pointing their guns at the heads of three employees and two customers as they force them to lie on the ground behind one of the counters.
My main concern was I didn't want any of my employees hurt and that's what I kept saying, Allen says, you can have anything you want, just don't hurt anybody."
The pair then put a gun Allens head and forced him to unlock the jewelry cases.

They didnt get any real diamonds. Instead, they made off with garbage bags of fake gold, platinum and cubic zirconium.
Is obama still at MarthasVineyard?
Concealed carry woulda helped that bash.
Did Joe Biden have an alibi? He is a thieving socialist clown.
It’s not real, Allen says. It’s totally worthless.”
Unfortunately, most of the jewelry people purchase from many stores is also fake. By that I mean most jewelry stores (take your pick) sell fake (lab-created, synthetic and CZ)precious gemstones.
And also, in many other instances the “gold” rings being sold at many “reputable” jewelry retailers are, in fact, “gold plated” which is why they offer (actually insist) on letting them size the ring for you for free. They don’t want you to take the ring somewhere else and discover they sold you a gold-plated piece of crap.
If you don’t believe me, try going to any jewelry store, select a ring made from “white gold” and ask very specifically if the ring is “solid” white gold. If they say yes, they are lying. Nobody makes solid white gold rings any longer. The white-gold is electro-plated onto a different base metal (usually 10K yellow gold.) But in many instances the gold is electro-plated over sterling silver or copper. The only way to determine this fact is to take it to a different jeweler and have them resize it for you. (Make sure you take it to a local independent jeweler that you can trust.)
So when you figure the gemstone is not “natural” and the gold is electro-plated onto the base metal, the ring is at best worth far less than the purchase price (even after taking into account that there is an outrageous mark-up by the retailer on “real” jewelry), and thus, worthless.
