Rebels: Gaddafi's Son 'Killed In Air Strike'
Sky News ^ | August 29th 2011

Rebel commanders say Khamis Gaddafi, one of Colonel Gaddafi's most feared sons, has been killed in an air strike 60km south of Tripoli.

He is said to have been in an armoured Toyota Land Cruiser when it was reportedly blasted off the road by a missile apparently from a Nato Apache helicopter.

Sky's chief correspondent Stuart Ramsay, who is at the scene, said a man claiming to be Khamis' bodyguard confirmed that he had died in the vehicle.

The explosion incinerated the 4x4 and was so intense it set nearby trees on fire, Ramsay reports.

Claims about the death of Khamis - leader of the notorious Khamis Brigade - come as the Algerian foreign minister said the dictator's wife and three of his other children had now escaped to that country.

The rebels' National Transitional Council (NTC), which is in the process of forming an administration to run the country, has said such sheltering of Col Gaddafi's family members was an "act of aggression".

Is this the son that had some model from Europe as an ex who continued to come visit him and was injured when Tripoli was invaded?

TRIPOLI Aug 29 (Reuters) - Fallen Libyan strongman Muammar Gaddafi's's son Khamis has been killed in a clash near the capital Tripoli, a senior rebel officer said on Monday.

Colonel Al-Mahdi Al-Haragi, in charge of the Tripoli Brigade of the rebel army, said he had confirmation that Khamis was badly wounded in the clash near Ben Walid and Tarhoni.

He was taken to a hospital but died of his wounds and was buried in the area, Al-Haragi said, without giving the timing. No independent confirmation of the death was available.

Of course in Libya no one has a camera to take a photo of the deceased.

Isn’t NATO only supposed to be enforcing a NO-FLY ZONE?

Aren’t those Flying Libyan SUV’s, compounds, ships and tanks simply amazing technology?

Dose this mean that we and nato can now help them invade and take over Algeria

>>>>>>Algeria has not recognized the National Transitional Council and the NTC, NATO, U.N. and ICC are spitting mad about that <<<<<

You mean, rabid mad because Algeria has not recognized Al Ciada? Bear in mind that over 200,000 Algerians died fighting against Islamofascists. That's WWII America's loss on much smaller population.

Algeria is Daffy's military ally, covering his back. That is what NATO is mad about.

From Wikipedia:

On 20 March 2011, it was reported by the anti-Gaddafi Al Manara Media that Khamis al-Gaddafi had died from injuries sustained when pilot Muhammad Mokhtar Osman allegedly crashed his plane into Bab al-Azizia a week earlier.

On 25 March 2011, Al Arabiya television reported that a source had confirmed the death of Khamis Gaddafi,[3] though others including Al Jazeera continued to call it a rumour.

On 5 August 2011, citing spies operating among the ranks of forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi, Mohammed Zawawi, a spokesman for the United Revolutionary Forces, told the Agence France Press news agency that Khamis had been killed overnight, stating that “there was a aircraft attack by NATO on the Gaddafi operations room in Zlitan and there are around 32 Gaddafi troops killed. One of them is Khamis.”

On 22 August, Al Jazeera reported that the bodies of both Khamis and his father’s intelligence chief Abdullah Senussi may have been discovered.

Sky News reported on 29 August that anti-Gaddafi fighters 60km south of Tripoli claimed that a British Apache helicopter gunship had fired on Khamis Gaddafi’s Toyota Land Cruiser, destroying the vehicle.
