When I am Old I shall wear diamondsI shall spend my social security On white wine and carrots, And sit in the alley of my barn And listen to my horses breathe.

I will sneak out in the middle of a summer's night And ride the black mare Across the moonstruck meadow If my old bones will allow.

I will learn to shovel and sweat and Wear hay in my hair as if it were a jewel, And I will be an embarrassment to all who look down on me Who have not yet found the peace In being able to love a horse as a friend.

A friend who waits at midnight hour With a soft muzzle, a nicker, and patient eyes For the kind of woman I will be when I am old...

Hugs & Prayers, Pandy

1,000th Birthday
September 30, 2011

In his book Long for This World, Jonathan Weiner writes about science’s promise to radically extend how long we live. At the center of the book is English scientist Aubrey de Grey, who predicts that science will one day offer us 1,000-year lifespans. Aubrey claims that molecular biology has finally placed a cure for aging within our reach.

But what difference does it make if, after living 1,000 years, we will eventually die anyway? De Grey’s prediction only postpones facing the ultimate question of what happens when we die. It does not answer it.

The Scriptures tell us that death is not the end of our existence. Instead, we are assured that everyone will stand before Christ—believers for their works and nonbelievers for their rejection of Him (John 5:25-29; Rev. 20:11-15). All of us are sinners and in need of forgiveness. And only Christ’s death on the cross has provided forgiveness for all who believe (Rom. 3:23; 6:23). The Bible says, “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment” (Heb. 9:27).

Our appointed face-to-face encounter with God puts everything in perspective. So whether we live 70 years or 1,000, the issue of eternity is the same: “Prepare to meet your God!” (Amos 4:12).

What matters more than length of life
Is where you’ll spend eternity;
If you have placed your faith in Christ,
Then heaven’s glory you will see. —Sper

Only those who have placed their faith in Christ are prepared to meet their Maker.

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Thank You, Amy.
I talked to Mom this morning. She is in her “Right Mind” (thank God!) but very depressed. She has started Rehab, though, and they sound very good for her. I will be calling again this afternoon before I go to work.

Good morning, Jaycee. Your red flowers are lovely. Are they Amaryllis?

Sorry to hear that you are feeling puny this morning. Sleep helped whatever I had last week.

Get some rest and take care of yourself.

Hugs

I’m praying that the Rehab will continue to help her and she will be able to go home soon.

I know that her being in her “Right Mind” is a relief for you. It must be so frustrating that she is not near.

IF WE LIVED 1000 YEARS WOULD WE BE CONTENT FOR THAT PERIOD OF TIME, WOULD WE CONSTANTLY WANT THINGS, TRIPS, VACATIONS, DISTRACTIONS? IT IS GOOD TO CONSIDER OUR DESIRES.

I know people that quickly become bored if they are not caught up in activity. What we are doing ... we think little about (often), ... is we are writing our book of life.

A good life is what we all want, (do we really?); however many want thrills and drama, melodramas. To want to please God and do good to everyone we meet is relatively rare, or so it seems. What higher good is there?

Live forever. WOW! AMAZING!!!

They have a gym with equipment, and put Mom through all kinds of exercises with weights and machines. This is SERIOUS PT she is getting! I am very happy about that.
