Thanks for posting this. It was especially interesting seeing the USS Los Angeles (blimp) over Manhattan in 1928. Some of the skyscrapers were originally designed to dock them, though that obviously never really worked out.

I saw 19 cents a gallon gas in the early 1970s; usually it was in the mid-twenty cent range, though. Of course, I was making about $1.85/hour then.

Have you ever noticed that everyone in those days wore hats and almost no one does today. The hat business must have been good back then.

There is a site on the net named Shorpy that has thousands of photos between 50 to 150 years old. The photos are from the Library of Congress.See link below
