SHILO, West Bank (AP) Rabbi Arele Harel offers an unconventional solution for Orthodox Jewish gay men who want to raise a conventional family: He fixes them up with Orthodox lesbians.
His matchmaking service, which has just gone online, has met criticism on opposing fronts. Orthodox Jewish rabbis say Harel should be doing more to encourage gays and lesbians to try to change their sexual orientation. Liberal religious gay groups see Harel's approach as a ploy to suppress homosexuality.

Pas de deux ping.
Fags are queers are fags :p
There certainly nothing “orthodox” about homosexuality! I think orthodoxy connotes strict adherence to God’s laws doesn’t it. How can one be a believer and contravene God’s word? Isn’t it a choice between God and sin? I mean what version of the Bible are they reading?
So funny. I guess you can’t make stuff up like this.
The Torah?
Its either Greek society, or Hebrew society.
You choose. But you can’t be part of both. Multiple gods, or one G-d. Sexual cornucopia, or a non-anything goes sexuality.
“Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match,
“Find me a find, catch me a catch...”
I’d previously read about this guy.
No one says that orthodox judaism accepts homosexuality as a behavior. What this Rabbi does, is accept at face value these people’s stated attraction, and then, with everyone on the same page, that G-d’s ways are incomprehensible, working with them to try to stay away from sinful behavior.
It’s not clear how marrying a girl who desires a female, and a man who desires males actually WORKS, but the idea is that all these people KNOW that they cannot indulge their desires, at least they marry someone who understands their urges.
Torah is the Hebrew word for the Bible. (old testament)
This reminds me of the old line from Lily Tomlin’s “Saturday Night Live” monologue:
“Wouldn’t it be nice if all those people who roam the streets of New York, talking to themselves, were paired off so that they could walk around in couples and look like they’re having a conversation?”
By the definition of homosexuality is a male allowed to have sex with a female? Are there rules or customs that apply here?
odd choice...Tomlin..given the nature of the thread eh?
she was funny..and quiet about her sexuality
No kidding.
The Torah is the collection of the first five books. There are many more books that make up the Old Testament.
