Of course they don't bury cows...It's been a long time since I read the Nero Wolfe story Some Buried Caesar, but as I recall the bovine American named Caesar was of the male variety.

If it isn’t against the law then why would he be guilty of any other charge?
To: Slings and Arrows
Wouldn’t this thread just be “Moo...[BANG!]”?

I grew up in the country and this was fairly normal back where I was from.

We used to use an old swing set for deer.

Well whenever we used to see someone butchering up a cow or deer, we would stop by to see if they needed any help. Usually a cookout would follow the completion of the task.

I’m not sure if it’s the lack of sleep or some sort of moral deficiency...but I’m laughing uncontrollably at this thread.
To: packrat35
Now that was real nice of you! A little fun for them before...well, dinner?

YOU need a HUG???? A cow was mercilessly slaughtered in public and YOU need a HUG?
Sick, grock. Sick. Selfish, too.
2-1/2 minute time out for you mister.

"it's not illegal, but..."If you think about it, you actually here that a lot. I'll give you one example, after which I'm sure you'll be able to think of others:
Tobacco is perfectly legal.
You just can't smoke it anywhere.

I agree. A good neighbor will let you use his Bobcat to remove brush, even help you burn it. But a HOA won’t let you keep a tractor, or even some brush, let alone burn it.

I really do know the difference between "here" and "hear". I was testing all of
you.
Most of you failed, and I despair for the Nation.

"The neighbor would fall over dead if she saw how we gut rabbits in the woods around here. (no cutting involved)"
Ok, now I'm curious. When I used to hunt rabbits, I would twist the heads off so I didn't have to carry the excess weight around, but do you gut a rabbit without a knife ?

I know you weren’t asking me but might I butt in and say it wouldn’t be an “inconvienence” but it is barbaric. You just don’t kill and carve up large animals on your driveway when you live right next to people. AND it would freak me out cuz I get sick at the sight of a lot of blood. Physically and spiritually sick. Others might too. Ya just don’t do it.

I’ve only ever butchered one cow in my driveway. The rest were done in my back yard.

Big Brother and his acolytes will not tolerate people doing things for themselves.
