JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man from Jackson County, Ohio who was arrested for A spanking that some family members say went to far is now out of jail.

According to the incident report from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Brown was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence after his son admitted his father pulled his pants down and spanked him with a belt. Authorities say the spanking left bruising and welts on the boy’s bottom.
Brown III’s bond was originally set at $100,000. It was reduced to $1,000 during a hearing Tuesday.

Yes, my parents believed in corporal punishment as well. They were never cruel or abusive and never had to use the method often; we weren't stupid. :-)

Would need to see injuries and know all of the facts of the case. The reason we are having so much difficulty with the youth of this nation is directly related to incidents like this. 2-3 good spankings at an early age and almost no more severe discipline is necessary.

I’m almost 59 yrs old. My mom was the one who was in charge of punishing me and my siblings when we were young. I can remember the “switch bush” very well. We were the ones who had to pick our switch and strip off the leaves. It had to be a good one with flexibility and strength...and it left welts! Mother also had a razor strap, with about a dozen small holes drilled through the leather. As we got to be in our teens that was the tool of punishment we could look forward to if we strayed from her rules. I only felt the sting of that once but had to sleep on my tummy for about a week until the swelling went down. My mom always told us that it “hurt her more than it hurt us”...I never believed her until I had kids of my own. Thanks mom!
Yes, when kids are very young, they’re little barbarians and need to be civilized in the only manner they understand, physical violence. It worked on me, that’s for sure.
But I have to disagree. Bieb should definitely go to Alaska and learn where the buckwheat grows. I would seriously hate to see him go the way of most child stars. That would totally ruin gunner’s life.

Read the story. He was stomping on the kid’s legs while beating him. This was not a spanking; it was abuse.

My Mom used a Hot Wheel track. The problem was she’s short, and she kept them on top of the fridge. My rotten brothers always had time to run for it while she was fishing around for it.
My mother used the broom on my older brother. She’d chase him around the house with it.
One time, when he was sixteen, she was chasing after him with the broom, and he took it away from her. He said, “Ma, I’m too old for you to hit me with the broom!”
She said, “Fine!”
And then promptly removed her shoe, and chased after him with that. :)
