Has Barack Obama Turned Into Lonesome Rhodes? (Watch "You're Gonna LOVE ME" Video)

Has Barack Obama turned himself into Lonesome Rhodes from the underrated but BRILLIANT movie "A Face in the Crowd?" Something about Obama whining that "If you love me, you got to help me pass this bill," about his jobs bill (is it in writing yet?) sounded familiar. I kept thinking and thinking where I heard that theme before and then it hit me...at the end of "A Face in the Crowd" in which a disgraced Lonesome Rhodes is begging for love. Watch the VIDEO and you can see Lonesome Rhodes begging for love at about the 35 second mark. It sure sounds familiar.

"A Face in the Crowd" was one of the BEST movies of the 1950s but I guess folks back then couldn't handle their beloved Andy Griffith who had recently starred in "No Time For Sergeants" as a highly flawed character. Griffith should have won the Oscar for his performance as Lonesome Rhodes.

Oh the irony.
The erstwhile ‘beloved’ Andy Griffith was no Andy Taylor after all;(

And the modern day equivalent of Senator Worthington Fuller would be...Senator John F. Kerry. Remember how Lonesome Rhodes tried to teach Fuller how to smile? Well, I remember how the normally gloomy looking Kerry came up with an out of character bizarre Stan Laurel type of smile for the 2004 campaign. After he lost, we never saw that dopey smile again and Kerry returned to his normal glum demeanor.

"folks back then couldn't handle their beloved Andy Griffith who had recently starred in "No Time For Sergeants" as a highly flawed character". As great as he was on the old Andy Griffith Show, he is indeed flawed (in real life). Check him and Ron Howard ("Opie") out endorsing Obama's Marxist "change" agenda in this 2008 presidential election tv commercial:
warning: If youre a fan of the Andy Griffith and Happy Days tv shows this will surely sicken you. Wrinkler also takes a cheap shot at Palin.

FUn Fact: In the movie “A Face in the Crowd,” the woman who played the blonde in the commercial holding an extra large size bottle of Vitajex was the wife of James “From Here to Eternity” Jones.

Kerry’s windsurfing was about on the same level as Curly Fuller’s hunting trip.

Yeah, I know Griffith endorsed Obama and starred in that embarrassing ObamaCare commercial but the fact is he was BRILLIANT in the role of Lonesome Rhodes.

Kerrys windsurfing was about on the same level as Curly Fullers hunting trip. Not really. Kerry didn't push the windsurfing aspect and was embarrassed when the GOP ran a commercial of his pathetic attempts to windsurf. More like Curly Fuller's hunting trip was when he went hunting in Ohio (for game and votes) and walked into a local shop asking "Can I get me a huntin' license?"

Has anyone noticed he keeps giving the "Jobs Tour" speech to a lot of college crowds? You wouldn't think that a bunch of college kids would be particularly be impressed to hear that there are infrastructure jobs waiting for them. Why isn't he stopping by the unemployment offices in any US city, and telling those folks?
He's trying to shore up his base, not convince the unemployed workforce that he has a viable plan.

I admit Kerry was much too wise for that. But I still think Senator Kerry looked as comfortable windsurfing as Senator Fuller, the mighty hunter, looked while on the prowl in the great outdoors.

Academia and the unions are about the only areas he can likely draw appreciative audiences without the potential of negative remarks. It’s all for show, so he has to go where he feels safe from the crowd.

Can’t comment on that. I’ve never seen the movie. In fact, I didn’t recognize Griffith in the video clip until reading the comments here. My movie genres are pretty limited.

Lonesome gives the theory behind the recent jobs bill speech:
Sell that stuff about a man among men...
to those morons out there?
Shucks, I sell them chicken fertiliser as caviar.
I can make them eat dog food and think its steak.
Sure, I've got them like this.
You know what the public's like, a cage full of guinea pigs.
Good night, you stupid idiots.
Good night, you miserable slobs.
They're a lot of trained seals...
I toss them a dead fish and they'll flap their flippers.

And the current unemployment rate sure looks like a dead fish to me

I agree. That was an awesome movie. I saw it for the first time a few months ago on TCM.
Andy Griffith pulled that part of like no one else I can imagine. What a combination of “goofy” and scary.
The performance of a lifetime!
(Too bad Andy Griffith was a major leftist)

Has anyone noticed he keeps giving the "Jobs Tour" speech to a lot of college crowds? Yeah, I noticed that, too. Like the song...Obama is just "Looking for love in all the wrong places." But, I guess that's all he has left - college kids with sophomoric ideals and no life or real working experience, who are still dependent on Daddy's wallet or the taxpayers' pockets.

The movie was filmed three years before the start of The Andy Griffith Show. Griffith, who had made a name for himself in a Broadway play called “No Time For Sergeants,” was well-known in the industry. His sitcom was actually a spin-off of The Danny Thomas Show.
