Posted on 09/18/2011 1:38:40 PM PDT by Perdogg
When was the last time both and Buffalo and Detriot won their first two games? The Lions put up 48 points on KC today, Buffalo put up 38.
Detroit has a competitive team. I don’t think they can win the NFC North but I would not at all be surprised to see them as a wildcard team.
Detroit will be the most improved team this year. On the other hand the Colts...
Detroit has Stafford back healthy...finally.
Sign of the apocalypse?
I am from Nebraska and have been watching the Lions because of Suh. After watching the game with my son today on TV, I think I may be becoming a Lions fan.
Excuse my while I put on my fireproof suit.
And Minnesota is 0-2. I’ll have to become a Packers fan. :)
Dogs and cats sleeping together!
Biggest surprise is Cam Newton. Dan Marino owns the NFL record for 13- 400 yard games. Mr. Newton has done it twice in his first two games.
Lions are scary good this year!
Stafford and Fitzpatrick have both been studs this year, and that’s been all the difference.
The Bills suddenly great because Ryan Fitzpatrick, their quarterback, is smart (very important with today's sophisticated offenses) and has a decent throwing motion.
Detroit has SO many weapons on offense too. This game was for Gunther Cunningham, though. Fired by the Chiefs, becomes the Lions D coordinator and builds a monster of a D line.
Seems like the QB is paramount.
The local Colts have gone from from contenders to cupcakes without Manning.
I saw the headline and thought you were talking about the game score. :)
I’m from Buffalo, but even tend to agree.... ;)
To say nothing of the Redskins!
Coming from the same perspective as a Cleveland fan, you Bills folks deserve every good thing that happens to you.
The fact that both played by beloved Chiefs plays no small part in their records.
The Lions beat my Packers last year in a game where I was about to throw in the Title Towel. They have a great team and the NFC North is going to be fun this year!!!
Annnnd, the Redskins are, along with GB (Carolina put a scare into them though), and while we’re on this, the Colts are 0-2. Minnesota looked good for most of their game, but the Buccanneers came back and beat them, leaving them winless.
Although I have always been a Packers fan the Lions are my home team. It is nice to see them doing well but I remember when they were 5-0 and then got toasted by Dallas. They sucked the rest of the year after that loss.
I hope the Lions do well this year but I want the Pack to repeat.
BTW, where’s Detriot? ;’)
Yep that defense is scary, teams are forced to triple team Suh which is freeing up a lot of players on defense. If Fairley is as good as they say that d-line will be even more incredible.
The Chiefs are the Royals of the NFL.
Lions earn record-breaking 48-3 win over Chiefs
He’s sitting on the bench of my fantasy team and has outscored my started 2 games in a row.... 3 INTs don’t matter when he throws for 400+ and runs for 50 more with a TD.
Anyone want to trade me a good running back for Ben Roethslisberger?
I am also not surprised by the good performance of Buffalo QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. When the Rams had him, I thought he could develop into being a good QB in the right situation.
When I saw the Chiefs play the Rams in pre-season, I thought they were gawd-awful.
How ‘bout dim Cowboys?
Call me when they play a team that doesn’t stink. Beating KC twice, Oakland and Tampa is a convenient way to get to a combined 4-0 but it ain’t an impressive 4-0.
Please freepmail me if you wish to be added or dropped from the mitten ping.
Personally--I'm too excited about the amazing season the Tigers are having to care much about anything else. "Go Lions!!!" and all that but I'm a baseball gal at heart.
I’m not a big fooseball fan but I’m excited about the Tigers. Verlander got win number 24 today. He’s firmly in the MVP conversation and the Cy Young is pretty much in the bag.
We can even realistically think about an AL championship again. They’re only down a couple of games on the Yankees now.
No need for the suit. Welcome to the Lion’s Den. :) Oh, and you may want to become a Tigers fan, too. FINALLY stuff is clicking.
Allah-- eh, God is telling us that if two good union towns like Detriot and Buffalo can be undefeated in the NFL... then this bill must be passed--
If you love the Detroit Lions, good union boys... then pass this bill--
Did I mention I killed... Osama so you'd love me?
If you love the Buffalo Bills, more good union boys... then pass this bill--
If you want an American made by unions... pass this bill--
By the way, I did kill... Osama with my bare hands so you'd love me!
So, pass... this bill if you love me, the Lions and the Bills-
Yep, Halloween already... has had enough!
The way the Detroit Tigers brutalized the White Sox in the last two series, I can’t see Obama having much love for the Motown kitties.
Maybe Jim Leyland can send his lucky undies to Obama. He wore them for the duration of that 12 game winning streak.
One Reason: Playing KC
Kansas City has major problems. Nobody is quiet sure why it is so bad now. Fire Todd Haley and Matt Cassel talk is in vogue now. Even some anti Hunt family rants on radio. Basically the Hunts’ have made poor choices since 1995, at least. The late father, Lamar, wasn’t putting enough effort into bringing us a winner. Now the son Clark might be doing the same.
Don’t worry, the Lions can still go 2-14.
Just hope they gets some Luck on draft day. Did you see what I did there?
It appears that you are correct in that assessment.
Wife is a Cheese head, and our boss, (and every other lackey at work) likes the Bears, Should be interesting around here.
Did I mention I live in SW MO?
Thank you, I hope they do good this year.
Blind squirrels find nuts every once in a while too....
The Lions are for real as long as Stafford is healthy. And their front seven is scary.
On another front, I’m glad I am not in Jay Cutler’s skin this morning. He took an old fashioned whuppin.
“As a long time Bills fan.....PLEASE don’t wake me from this dream!”
A nightmare by the name of Tom Brady is on the way.
