I think this is the last new episode for a while. Do you know when they will begin showing new eps again?

Thanks. The previews for the show when it returns after the break, looked great last night. I think it has been very slow this season and I am waiting for something to happen. It seems mostly “monster of the week” type stuff; but, after seeing Nina last night being the cause of Olivia’s migraines; and, then the previews, it looks like things may get back on track. Hopefully, Peter will become a bigger player again.

SEASON 4: EPISODE 8 – AIRS: 1/13/2012
EPISODE TITLE: BACK TO WHERE YOU'VE NEVER BEEN

EPISODE SYNOPSIS: While Olivia and Lincoln try to return Peter home, they try to cope with the looming threat of the transparent shapeshifters.

In other news:

Thanks to baseball pre-emptions and winter hiatus, it's been two months since the last time "Fringe" (Fridays, 9 p.m. EST on Fox) aired in our universe. Given its knockout of a midseason finale (literally -- Nina Sharp and her Massive Dynamic lackeys gassed Olivia into unconsciousness and dosed her with Cortexiphan at the episode's climax), fans are understandably anxious to see what happens next.

I've seen this Friday's episode, titled "Back To Where You've Never Been," (which just so happens to be the episode that was filming when I visited the set last October) and I'm happy to report that it's one of the strongest of the season to date. You'll get a clearer idea of how Peter intends to return to "his" Olivia, new alliances will form, and in true "Fringe" fashion, there will be plenty of twists to keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The last five minutes, in particular, are not to be missed.

To whet your appetite, above is an exclusive preview clip from the episode that sheds a little light on Peter's cunning plan. And if that isn't enough "Fringe" goodness for you, executive producers Jeff Pinkner and Joel Wyman gave more details in a wide-ranging phone interview earlier this week.

Besides the revelations in this week's episode, the pair talked about the season's overall arc and weighed in on Fox president Kevin Reilly's ominous proclamation at the network's Television Critics Association press day that "we lose a lot of money on the show" -- prompting many fans to wonder if cancellation isn't far behind.

The shifting back and forth between dimensions has turned me off.
Really liked the show when they investigated really weird stuff.
Involving the main characters in the plot is a turnoff to me.
X-Files did the same and I lost interest in that one also.
IMHO it shows the writers groping for a story line. Beginning of the end.

I’ve lost interest in Fringe.

"Fringe" is in limbo at Fox.

It would be nice if it got renewed or got picked up by SyFy or something, but that hardly ever happens anymore.

The shifting back and forth between dimensions has turned me off.

It took a while for me to get used to it. I always watch on DVR later so I can rewind if need be, and also skip the commercial breaks. I found that helped in the continuity.

I used to really like the X-Files, my son bought me the first couple of seasons on DVD and I am looking forward to re-watching them when I get some more time.

BTW, Fringe has investigated some pretty weird stuff this season as well!

“Fringe,” because any number of factors, long since became unwatchable as a weekly TV show. The only remedy is to wait and order each season, used, for $9.95. Or wait until cancellation and then order all four seasons as a boxed set from Hong Kong for $29.95. Or better yet, re-watch all 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1.

Some new shows I like this year:

Terra Nova
Once Upon A Time
Alcatraz just premiered this past weekend...it looks good
The Firm
Person of Interest
Last Man Standing (with Tim Allen)

And then there are some good shows with new seasons starting soon:
My secret pleasure...Sons of Anarchy
Haven (Based on the Stephen King book - The Colorado Kid)
House M.D.

A new show Touch with Keifer Sutherland premiers next Wednesday
Blending science, spirituality and emotion, the series will follow seemingly unrelated people all over the world whose lives affect each other in ways seen and unseen, known and unknown. At the story’s center is MARTIN BOHM (Kiefer Sutherland), a widower and single father, haunted by an inability to connect to his emotionally challenged 11-year-old son, JAKE (David Mazouz). Caring, intelligent and thoughtful, Martin has tried everything to reach his son. But Jake never speaks, shows little emotion, and never allows himself to be touched by anyone, including Martin. Jake is obsessed with numbers—writing long strings of them in his ever-present notebooks—and with discarded cell phones.

Social worker CLEA HOPKINS (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) believes that Jake’s needs are too serious for Martin to handle. She sees a man whose life has become dominated by a child he can no longer control. She believes that it’s time for the state to intervene. So Jake is placed in foster care, despite Martin’s desperate objections.

But everything changes after Martin meets ARTHUR TELLER (Danny Glover), a professor and an expert on children who possess special gifts when it comes to numbers. Martin learns that Jake possesses an extraordinary gift—the ability to perceive the seemingly hidden patterns that connect every life on the planet. While Martin wants nothing more than to communicate directly with his son, Jake connects to his father through numbers, not words. Martin realizes that it’s his job to decipher these numbers and recognize their meaning. As he puts the pieces together, he will help people across the world connect as their lives intersect according to the patterns Jake has foreseen.
