Because of gravity and the size of the target, I say it will hit Michael Moore.

I think Hillary, Pelosi and Helen Thomas should get on their brooms and snag this thing while it’s still in one piece. Then bring it down to Earth, landing in Vegas where they can drag it over to Pawn Stars and sell it.

Maybe terrorists secretly loaded it up with 1,000 nuclear warheads before it fell from orbit?!?!?!?!?!

I think we can just send a rocket up there with Helen Thomases picture on it to scare it away.

Charleston, WV at 8:55PM EDT. It will crush a Chevy pickup.
That's about the closest the orbit comes to me in the next day and it looks like the clouds are finally clearing. I'll be watching the southeastern sky.

The FR betting pool has these locations in the running.
The White Hut
Mecca
Either of Al Gore’s homes
UN buildings (NYC or Geneva)
Michael Moore’s place
The residence of the guy who called Bristol Palin’s Mom a whore
Any others?

McDowell said the satellite's delayed demise demonstrates how unreliable predictions can be. That said, "the best guess is that it will still splash in the ocean, just because there's more ocean out there." More ocean than land, hmm. Who knew? Check out the big brain on the Harvard-Smithsonian astrophysics guy. < rolls eyes >

Is this the Official Live Thread or the Official Dead Thread?
To: La Enchiladita
“The Aerospace Corp., which tracks space debris, estimates the strike will happen sometime between about 6 p.m. and 4 a.m. EDT, which would make a huge difference in where the debris might wind up. Those late-night, early morning passes show the satellite flying over parts of the United States.”
