Instead of some solar hoo-hah...I wouldn’t mind if they set-up natural gas or coal burning energy sources. This has *FAIL* written all over it.

Solar powered night vision goggles... What could possibly go wrong?

From your link:
>>M.B.A. from University of Hartford<<

Hardly impressive creds; I happen to know this institution....they hand out degrees, so long as your tuition is paid in full. BWHAHAHA!

First, we had death panels, and now solar panels! WTF?!?!?

Missile defense = unimportant

Green energy and gay rights = very important.

This guy is dangerous.

AFRL has demonstrated that it can make fuel out of grass, flowers, pretty much anything.

I also recommend researching solar paint and shingles. Stan Ovshinsky’s work and research.

Say what you will, the man’s a genius. He invented the electric car.....Remember those?

He has a plug-and-play solar roof invention. I don’t know that much about it, except that it’s still expensive. But he’s got the know-how already demonsrated.

The e-Cat demo’d by the Navy works. It shuts down if it gets too hot. One of future provisos is that the US and any company involved IS AMERICAN and that the PROFITS stay HERE. It’s OURS.

I want off ME oil so badly I am flattening my teeth. No joke. My dentist keeps cautioning me.

Hasn't the army always been green?

[Heaven forgive me for mocking the military, but this plan is an outrage!!]

The program calls for the Army to use its land as equity to leverage about $7 billion in private investment for the twenty projects.

Now Obama is using the military to launder kickbacks for his supporters. Is there no end to Chicago politics at the national level?

Note:

The Army must wade through a sluggish Pentagon bureaucracy before leasing 30 acres or so for a “solar farm,” a photovoltaic array. It then will seek bidders who would lease the land and sell solar energy to the post at the right price — at or slightly more than the 91/2 to 10 cents per kilowatt hour Fort Bliss now pays on the local grid.

So they anticipate being charged *more* than they are paying now. WTH?

>>I want off ME oil so badly I am flattening my teeth. No joke.<<

I’m pulling my hair out! I want us out of ME dependency too....we have enough of our own energy sources to mine and use....that will *actually* create jobs here. I’m feeling the urgency to get Hussein out of office, more and more, each moment.

The most important national security issue after border security is becoming energy independent.

The army is doing the right thing.

The solar and wind stuff is a side show and won’t yield cheap energy any time soon.

But the biofuel stuff will has great potential of yielding energy at below current costs within 2-3 years.

That would change the world.

Bully for the army.

The Obots are right on this one.

lol,

It's real simple. The executive branch has “control” over the DOJ, INTEL and DoD communities. They can ram certain things down the soldiers throat (no pun intended) and better yet, not even face much opposition because the military culture is one of toeing the line and following the flag on the battlefield. In this case, green and gay agenda's are easily forced into action regardless of their efficiency or pragmatism because the DoD doesn't operate like a business. They simply lose combat effectiveness, war readiness, or morale when politicians play these games.

But what does Obama lose? The DoD is a conservative voting block. Him screwing them has no real political repercussions since he can show he's taking action to save money, push his gay or green political nonsense to appease his base and not really lose any votes... Better cut the DoD than the rest of the 76% of the federal budget tied up in everything from subsidies, social security, medicare, medicaid, 99 weeks of unemployment benefits, food stamps, grants to colleges to study human sexual behavior, money for special medical services for HIV/AIDS positive folks, school lunches, or paying hospitals for the costs of babies born by illegals... You know, all those things our Constitution spells out as the role of the federal government./sarc

It's about buying votes and demographics and the guy that says pass this bill now and “no games no politics” is all games and politics.

It’s already started. Our base has solar panels on several new car ports for employees.

If we drill, we'd have oil. There is nothing evil about oil, it's just another energy carrier which happens to be a very storable and energy dense form that works well at high or low temperatures, allows for quick refueling and is fairly safe.

Green is a pipe dream, a business fad that everyone from fast food, energy companies, to shoe manufacturers has latched onto... But nonetheless, it's a fad and mostly a scam. Of course because the people talk about it, the politicians now want to line up and throw themselves out front of this.

Firms like Solyndra typify what is happening in this so called “green industry” where you have businesses that “game the system” in so far use the tax code, subsidies and mandated quota's in order to make themselves profitable. By themselves in an open an free market, they go under. The kiss of death for Solyndra in reality was that “Cap and Trade” didn't pass. Had this become a law, this firm could have sold their pet rock or can of fresh air on a market where consumers are forced to consume this product; i.e. recycling, hybrid cars, CFL’s are all good examples of this lie. The Chevy Volt or the Prius, if you add $5,000 to $8,000 dollars for every unit sold, how many do you think would sell?

Green is the biggest scam of the 21st century.

You're right, they have it right on this one.

Missile defense- cut, Zumwald-cut, FCS-cut, F22- cut, retirements-cut, pay and benefits- cut, modernization of our tank fleet-cut... But they have a different type of “green” now that is far more important, all that past tense stuff like hardware to fight wars with, training, and people that doing the fighting is irrelevant.

No- This is Clinton all over again. In 1999 I didn't have enough 203 ammo to train my platoon in Alaska, for a while they cut a 20 year retirement down to 40% base pay, the GI bill eroded to nothing, we didn't get the Interceptor Body Armor (IBA) even though that was available since 1996 (Never heard that mentioned in the MSM when they blame Bush/Rumsfeld for a lack of body armor in Iraq 2003). But I tell you what we did have money for! EEO training and conventions that flew people to Hawaii, AIDS/HIV research paid for with DoD funds... of course there were some back then that thought they “had it right” on this too.

Wars are fought with machines and by people, anything not related to equipping, training, or providing for them, is BS.
