Once and for all, people, it's an ice cream cone.
The owners of Ice Cream Family Corner and Sandwiches at the busy intersection of South Pine Avenue and Southwest 17th Street say their two-month-old business is getting creamed because passers-by have mistaken their white-hooded ice cream cone mascot for a KKK protester.
Co-owner Jose Cantres says rumors are swirling on Facebook about the exact nature of the little vanilla cone, and employees heard through word of mouth that potential customers have steered clear of the shop to avoid the character.
Liza Diaz, who manages the store for Cantres and co-owner Jesus Diaz, said an employee at the bank where she does business told her a co-worker was so frightened by the white dollop patrolling the street corner that she called her husband crying and refused to drive through the intersection.
One (customer) told me, I had to think twice before coming in here because I thought it was KKK,' Diaz said.
Interestingly, Diaz, who is from Puerto Rico, had never heard of the KKK before this controversy. She can't even quite get her tongue around the name, referring to the white supremacist group as the Ku Ku Klan without a hint of irony or sarcasm.

Welcome to Obama’s America.
This person handles other peoples' money? Time to switch banks.
If people are so ignorant that they can’t tell that white hood from a Klan white hood, that’s just pathetic. Unfortunately, it looks like they’ve got a pathetic group of customers that the shop needs to placate. I’d get rid of the white hood, perhaps go for the chocolate or strawberry look.
Probably just some subliminal niche marketing. /s
Are people really this stupid?
Ice cream is RACISS!
No, they're niggardly about using their intelligence.
;^)
So are “Waffle” Cones.
OK. So why do they call the M&M’s with ice cream thingy the “Grand Wizard Blizzard”?

See if you can spot three differences between the pictured robes.
I didn’t know the Klan used sprinkles on their robes.
He doesn’t look like a white guy.
One (customer) told me, I had to think twice before coming in here because I thought it was KKK,’ Diaz said.

Owner should say: “If you’re that (bleeping) stupid, then don’t come in here. I don’t want your business.”
Did they think the KKK added multicolored chocolate spinkles to their hoods?
Sorry, it’s the Cool Cone Clan,
Geez, I drive by him all the time. He is black and the bottom part is an ice cream cone.
One picture has three Democrats in it, and with the other its hard to tell what party the guy in the ice cream cone belongs to.
He’d be OK if he just took that little peak off the top.
Although then he’d look like he was wearing a hijab, and probably some Muslim would cut off his head for appearing in public with bare arms.

Senator Byrd would be offended if he was alive to read your slur on his party.
How long until someone files a lawsuit?
It is the South after all. Doesn’t surprise me that they would make a KKK outfit or one that looks like it. The South gave birth to the KKK. I thought it was gone but seems like they can’t quite let it go.
“an employee at the bank where she does business told her a co-worker was so frightened by the white dollop patrolling the street corner that she called her husband crying and refused to drive through the intersection.”
Wow, that made me laugh hard.
“Interestingly, Diaz, who is from Puerto Rico, had never heard of the KKK before this controversy. She can’t even quite get her tongue around the name, referring to the white supremacist group as the Ku Ku Klan without a hint of irony or sarcasm.”

Isn’t that interesting.
She voluntarily becomes a slave to a fear that is not even hers. This is the mind of a sub-7 year old child, a first-second grader, afraid of a boogeyman in the closet.
Wonder how frequently she reproduces?
The truth was the KKK was against a lot of people, Irish, Catholics, Germans, etc. Their operational center was in Indiana.
They didn't burn crosses until the movie came out. The movie needed a light source to film at night and someone thought burning crosses would be a good idea. The KKK started doing this AFTER they saw the movie.
I grew up in NW Iowa and my Dad told me a story about coming home one night in the early 30’s and the yard was full of KKK and a cross was burning on the hill side. I asked my Dad why they would do that, there weren't any blacks in town. He said “yeah, but there were catholics.” It was a different time and place.

I am detecting a pattern of behavior on the part of Ice Cream...
Wow, and I thought the klan was dead. Who could have predicted they would morph into the KKK with Kandy SprinKles.
We had our first “all black” TV station start today. I’m in Upstate NY. I can hardly wait for our “All Gay” station to start. Oh, nevermind...we can just watch dancing with the stars.
If it wasn’t for the fact that our bodies automatically breathe and our hearts automatically pump, there’d be a lot of dead folks out there.
2) Ice-cream man's face visible, definitely not your typical KKK hood/robe wearing demographic.
3) KKK not holding sign selling ice-cream.
4) Bottom of KKK robe doesn't look like a sugar/waffle cone.
5) KKK faces all hidden.
6) KKK not waving at traffic in friendly gesture.
Yeah, someone who's afraid to drive through this ice-cream man's intersection shouldn't be handling the money of other people.
My daughter was behind me on another computer. Just as I clicked on this thread she turned around and saw the picture. “What’s up with that dude? Is that ice cream?”
She must be smarter than the bank teller - she didn’t even need the hint of seeing the ice cream store behind the guy.

In brief random people for whom the word "book" means Facebook are repeating rumours. The owners and manager of the shop are thinking "These people are crazy"
She was speaking of two other folks (one a customer, and one who worked at the bank she used) and their fears in the article, not of any fears she may have had.
The Klan brought in consultants to give them a corporate makeover.
“The Klan brought in consultants to give them a corporate makeover.
“
LOL! Nice. The prettier, friendlier KKK.
I wonder what these idiots would do if the business that was employing this type of advertising was a CRACKER BARREL.
Imagine what these idiots would do if they were to see that!
Example from a 1927 Taormina Sicily Funeral Procession

Not only those people but they also went after anyone who dared vote republican too.The letters are included in the national archives of southern republican begging for the government to send troops to stop the KKK.
Would Obama eat an ice cream cone there?
True, but Indiana was the focal point of the KKK during it's second incarnation.
I saw the waffle cone part of the suit and stayed away because I thought they were Belgians.
I am just sitting here crying I am laughing so hard. How overly sensitive have we become? Dude, it’s an ice cream cone. A rather bad depiction of one, but still . . .
