A court in Saudi Arabia has sentenced a woman to 10 lashes for breaking the country's ban on female drivers.

Why did she do that? What did she think would happen?
And have a few guys go postal at the police station after it was done?
The N.A.G.’s don’t comment on bagging, stoning, etc.
They are focused like a laser beam on women who CHOOSE TO stay home and have babies that can’t come back to their same job after 5 years and get the same dough as the poor schmuck (man or woman) that put in the effort to get ahead.
Where ever you are there are laws.
It makes no difference if you agree with them, they exist.
Some places you can work to change them, others not so much.
If the law says no chicks driving, then it is what it is.
So they CLAIM. You know, like PAKISTAN.
Islam is a “PEACEFUL” religion. SURE!!! Amputations, stonings, lashings, beheadings.
They’re savages - zombie savages.
What can we expect of people who think dogs are “unclean” and dancing and music are “evil”?
They are savages pure and simple.
You're absolutely right. They are frozen in time and it seems that nothing can effect a thaw. Best we just stay away from them and, above all, keep them out of our country.
However, they do require a driver's license and they won't issue those to women.
Was she texting?
Silence is a form of agreement. Thus the femi-nazis must agree with the saudis. In saudi the women will not be allowed to vote till 2014, if then. Silence is golden for the saudis. Have the femi-nazis been paid, by the saudis, for their support?
AND become energy self-sufficient so the bastards have to eat their own damn oil.
Music for Saudi chicks...
I would love to see this happen but I don't believe that solar/wind and all of its attendant "pie-in-the-sky" schemes will do the trick. We've gott'a "drill-baby-drill."
I’m good with it
I do a great deal of driving on a daily basis. Some of the drivers I’ve encountered could use a good flogging. Hell, I’d do it myself.
Tyrannical law should be resisted on general principle.

Sounds to me like Humblegunner would have taken the side of the British in 1776 and Sargon might have liked the idea of a free United States.
Based on your posts, show me why I'm wrong.
My guess is Humblegunner didn't mean what he said or didn't think through the consequences.
A ban on women driving might or might not be worth fighting against, but some laws are wrong and must be fought.
That's kind of an important foundational principle justifying the existence of the United States of America, and I kind of think there might be some statements to that effect in the Declaration of Independence.
She wasn't fighting a law or freeing her country from tyranny.
She was driving unlicensed and got busted.
Let's not make more of it than it is.
