US President Obama has given the Europeans a harsh lecture on the dangers of their ongoing debt crisis. Offended by the unsolicited advice, Europeans have suggested the US get its own house in order first. Obama's remarks were "arrogant" and "absurd," German commentators say on Wednesday.

Europeans are well aware of the seriousness of their ongoing debt crisis. But they don't, it seems, like to receive lectures from other countries -- especially the United States, which is struggling to deal with its own mountain of debt.

They don’t appreciate lectures, but they’ll happily accept our billions and trillions. Our current leadership offers them both; we should offer them neither.

I just returned from a business trip in Europe. Let’s just say the blush is off the rose as far as Obama’s image among his Euro worshipers, but they were still surprised at how strong the negative opinions are from every American they do business with.

Obama's remarks were "arrogant" and "absurd,"

A timeless, all purpose statement.

The part Der Spiegel missed, was that he was not lecturing or even talking to them. He was in California fundraising and campagning. What he actually did was blow off his responsibilty, yet again, for the economic mess we’re in. First off it was all Bush’s fault... Now European policies are scaring the world and preventing his recovery efforts from working. Just another day and another evasion of responsibility... same old Barry, he’s a one trick pony.

Offended by the unsolicited advice, Europeans have suggested the US get its own house in order first.

What delicious irony. The Germans bought into zero's whole rock star persona prior to the election. After we 'anointed' him, the Europeans were among the first to become disenchanted with him.

We're a little slower.

What should we expect?

America has elected a rabble rouser with a bull horn, without so much experience as t run a lemonade stand. He is qualified only to pit one group of people against another.

Well, they were the ones hyperventilating over the glorious messiah in the first place...
