I've noticed that I have a charge on my home phone bill from ILD Teleservices. I already have Long distance service from ATT. Anybody know what it is and how to get rid of it? Thanks
Call AT&T and they’ll take it off. Do it soon though.
Consumers who have been crammed should carefully save all paperwork and immediately call their local phone provider to dispute the charge. Next, call the provider listed on the bill, and dont back down if the company claims you authorized the charge. Dont pay the charge, either phone service cannot be disconnected for non-payment of the third-party portion of a phone bill. However, the third-party provider can put their bill into collections, with the possibility that non-payment could end up on a credit report, so its important to follow-up with the billing company to be sure the charge is permanently removed.
Also ask them to put a block on future third party services.
I will call in the morning. They are closed now. I’ve never signed anything authorizing a third party long distance service. I went back to January of this year and it’s there. December 2010 was free of this charge. I have auto bill pay. That’s going away now.
Yeah that’s why I will never do auto pay on a phone bill. You’ll have no trouble getting this removed.
I guess the crammer will claim you ordered some service over the phone. They did that to my office one for some $700 item. They even had my secretary’s voice recorded saying “yes” to something. It was so fake like they isolated it and spliced it in. So whenever I’m on the phone with someone trying to sell something I never say the word “yes”.
With your deal, it won’t ever go that far, they’ll just take the charge off.
ILD handles third party billing. For example dial-up services can be placed on you phone bill every month and that will show up as ILD. This is done by people who don’t want their credit card number floating around to be automatically charged each month.
Nothing beats hands-on.....same reason there's no phocking way I'll do online banking.

Yeah, got rid of my home phone.
I had the same problem a couple of years ago. Got one set of charges partially reimbursed, but then it happened again. AT&T allows these 3rd party charges. You never get all your money back. AT&T gets to keep part of the money. I had to get rid of AT&T.
