She keeps talking about this being an unconventional election cycle, so what does that mean? A candidate entering a primary late does not make an unconventional election cycle. I think Palin does want to run, but she wants to make a risky gamble. I think she is going to announce that she is not going to run in the republican primary. Once the primary is over she will watch the Media turn on Romney or Perry and whichever one it is will be destroyed. Palin will then launch a third party campaign. I do not agree with this approach and I think it could ruin her career, but I have been wrong about Palin and her career moves in the past. The third party idea is so crazy that it's probably what she has in mind and it will probably work.

If she goes 3rd party she’ll pull about what Perot did: 20%.

The Republican nominee will get 35% and Baraq will win with a Clintonian plurality.

I’ve no idea what she is doing, and until the day she does decide or not decide to get into the race, I’m not going to concern myself with her, because there is no point.

I will say this, the longer she waits, the harder it will be for her, in my opinion, because others are already sticking their necks out and putting their asses on the line by participating in these debates, and she isn’t.

The “Third Party” approach is disaster for Republicans and a sure Obama second term...I hope we are far too level headed to resort to this solution. Romeny or Perry must not win exactly for this reason....As willing as the media is to build up Romeny or Perry they can just as easily destroy! I think Gov. Palin will announce she will not seek the Presidency but endorse Cain....then Cain will win and ask Palin to be VP. CAIN/PALIN 2012!!!!!!!!!!!

If she goes third party I will lose what little respect I have for some of her supporters on FR.

She knows better.

Give her a little more credit than that.

Personally, I think she is positioning for VP.

Third party is the last thing on her mind. I think she’s waiting to see if Cain is for real, and if he is, she jumps on his bandwagon (as she’s been making noises to that effect already). If not, she runs.

I don’t think that she would take the VP slot again, but I bet she’d take Secy of Energy.

I think that she wants an advisory role of some kind.

No risk, no accountability, but a chance to make an impact.

If she runs 3rd Party - she will be skewered by Rush, Levin and Hannity on a daily basis. That’s before the MSM gets involved.

Perot was not conservative, so his running third party did not split the heart of the Republican Party base but it did split the over all GOP vote. A Palin third party run is brutal bloody tea party type infighting.

Would be the disaster of disasters for all involved....except Obama.

The third party idea is so crazy that it's probably what she has in mind and it will probably work.

The 3rd party idea is stupid and Palin will not do it. I do agree though, it is possible she may draw out the tease campaign a little while longer by only announcing that she is not running for the Republican nomination for President. She may even drop by and visit with Trump the clown again in order to encourage this idea that she might run 3rd party. At the end of the day though, she will not run for President at all and will endorse the GOP nominee no matter who it is.

Palin will then launch a third party campaign.

Give her a little more credit than that. She knows full well that would ensure Obama's reelection. She won't let that happen.

I agree with you fully. I think it is a terrible idea. She needs to quit thinking it. But, then again both me a you could be wrong. By the time the Republican primary is over Perry or Romney could be the nominee and either one could be trailing Obama by 30 points. Why? because the media will be digging through either Romney or Perry’s dirty laundry.
I don’t know the future but I think Palin’s behavior, and comments that she has made in the past about holding the Republican Party accountable, indicate that she is retaining this crazy idea.
