According to Daily Kos, The New York Transit Workers Union (TWU) voted to support the Wall Street Protestors at their meeting last night.
A member of TWU Local 100 told a reporter that they would join the protest Friday at 4PM.

So move Wall Street business to flyover country.
The TWU is marching to support their communist brethren.
There will be violence eventually.
Shouldn't they be standing outside of the finance offices and faculty lounges of their institutes of higher education??? If anything, Wall Street has helped the endowment funds of those schools earn enough to provide scholarships to help offset the outrageous tuition costs.
Yep. This could get ugly. It will backfire, though. People are really disgusted with the commies.
Great! they can join the luminaries there like Michael Moore and Susan Sarandon(even though none of the protestors had a clue who the dried up old commie hag was when she showed up.).
The endorsement by Noam Chomsky was also a nice touch.
Now, the professional protestors will move in, violence WILL erupt, and a bunch of the misguided “overeducated and underemployed” youths will get their skulls dented by nightsticks.
Fools.
Look for a Republican landslide in 2012.
Is the humor starting to wear off yet? More and more Im convinced Bloomberg supports this protest.
why is the NYSE or any broker for that matter still in NYC? it needs to be moved.
Isn't Wall Street just about shut down by 4:00PM on Friday's?
Yep. LOL!
I'd like that. My ancestors owned the land where Wall Street sits for almost 150 years. I'd like it back.
Restaurants. Plus, their mistresses do NOT want to live in Texas.
How ironic that the NY City Transit Union has done this - because NY City only exists in its present form because it has briefly managed to take center stage on the finance and debt based economy of the USA (and the world) of the last 40 years.
It won’t last though, and the Gov’t apparatchiks it supports will feel the pain soon enough.
Yep. Money is tight, and these scrounges keep demanding more free stuff. They've picked a bad time in history to complain about not getting enough in free handouts!
The earth has been found wanting.
I missed the “follow mt dreams” clause in the constitution. Either that or my dream was to go down into a hole in the ground where it was hot and wet to dig dirt. Sounds pretty Freudian to me. :-)
Go ahead, let them punish the institutions that market the government-backed bonds that provide the capital used to keep improving the infrastructure of their employer; bonds sold to the private investors that use “Wall Street” to identify and buy the bonds.
Face it, the “Wall Street” protesters are not protesting “Wall Street”.
They are protesting private capital investment that does not attach itself to or promote a Liberal/Progressive/Marxist social agenda.
It is a protest against private capital investment that is not subsumed into a financial services industry that operates under regulations that make it de facto “public utility”.
Watch the videos. There already is violence.
Some of us are more disgusted with the criminal bankers.
They need to protest DC as well. They’re JUST as responsible.
That’s what I thought. Great timing to “protest” when the Stock Market is closed for the weekend. BTW, why aren’t the “doctor” and the 20 y.o. at work, “following their dreams”? And if the “doctor” only has 100K in debt, he’s not a real doctor anyway. The average med student has at LEAST 170K in debt, more likely well over 200K. Plus, if he’s a resident he wouldn’t have the time to be protesting. He’d be at the hospital helping the po’ he cares so much about.
“Isn’t Wall Street just about shut down by 4:00PM on Friday’s?”
It doesn’t make a difference whether Wall Street is shut down at that hour. Thousands of commuters will be inconvenienced by the throngs of leftists, communists, red diaper babies, smelly, aged hippies and union flunkies. I work downtown and whenever there is any kind of demonstration my bus commute becomes hellish.
If college students want something to protest, might I suggest their hallowed universities. American college students are the new sharecroppers in our country. Scrape and bow to your masters, the professors. They don’t mind if you have a $100,000 debt for your degree in South American Dance Studies as long as they get paid for working three hours a week.
There was actually a guy who sued Boston College. He said he’d trade back his degree for the tuition he spent on it.
I seem to recall such a furor ... didn’t it revolve around the “implied warranty of merchantability” and schools were adding disclaimers to their registration materials?
Goddless, Demonic MOB
