Butt the best was the album that Elvis recorded with the Beatles.

("Nice beaver", says Ringo.)

I have that album. I love Leon Redbone. That’s one of my favorite albums. I admit I never got the cover, though.

That one looks to me like Steven Spielbergs original inspiration. Is that a spaceship descending? Either that, or madonna is on the ceiling, showing just one breast.

I actually sort of like the cover, in a cheesy way, sans the ceiling breast.

Then, there was this cover, not seen by many, which was later shamelessly imiated by a British band, now forgotte, what's their name, and which had in the background my VW bug, for which sight I was never compensated.

When I was a child, I remember sitting and staring at that cover. (Yes, I’m a girl).

I’ve always been interested in art and set design, and as a kid, I saw it totally differently than adults. I couldn’t figure out how they got the woman in the whipped cream. I did figure out that it was a towel around the back, though.

I also read later that most of it was shaving cream (looks better and lasts) and only the bits on her hands was whipped cream.

Sorry, missed that admonition on my first run through.

But there are plenty of really bad covers out there today. The style now is to be "weird" rather than attractive, which is what the mode was when I was a kid. So there is plenty of weird.

Here are some strange recent ones, found right on the front page of Amazon:

That album cover should stand as a cautionary tale of what happens when you mix drugs, money and musical desperation.

You think the Pat Boone album cover is gay?

You should hear is rendition of such classic metal songs as:

Deep Purple’s Smoke On the Water
Guns N Roses’ Paradise City
Metallica’s Enter Sandman
Alice Cooper’s No More Mr. Nice Guy
Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven

and my favorite,

Ozzy Osbourne’s Crazy Train

Nothing can compare to William Shatner doing "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" - it's even better than you could ever imagine.
