First Lady Michelle Obama was spotted shopping at Target by an Associated Press photographer who told CBS News he was tipped off that she would be there.
AP photographer Charles Dharapak told CBS News he took the picture at the Target on Route 1 in Alexandria, Virginia.
The first lady's office confirmed that the picture showed Mrs. Obama, though it did not immediately respond when asked if it tipped off Dharapak.
"It is not uncommon for the First Lady to slip out to run an errand, eat at a local restaurant or otherwise enjoy the city outside the White House gates," said Kristina Schake, communications director for the First Lady.

BS Photo op meant to show us how “just like us she is.
In other words they wanted to show how she slips out to be with the common folk so they tipped the photographer.
I’m curious why this is such a big deal?

I find this a bit hard to believe without them shutting down a three city block buffer zone and surrounding the place with SS agents.
So where is the security detail? I doubt this one.
It looks a little too prepared.
I’m told great colour photoes of that quality can’t just be snapped on the fly, but some prep work is necessary.

If she’s auditioning for “People of Wal-mart” she needs some leopard-skin stretch pants, a wife-beater shirt over a regular bra, and she needs to BE AT WAL-MART!
She totally looks in her element in that picture.

A decent digital SLR can do automatic white balance on the fly. Photoshop on the RAW image does the rest.
Most of the housewares for my (detestable) apartment in the Hybla Valley years ago, came from this very Target store.

Yeah, Presidents and First Ladies just wander off the White House grounds and no body notices. If she didn’t have her SS detail with her, they are now stationed at BFN.

This must be staged. She’s pushing the cart with one hand, carrying the bags in the other. A normal person would put the bags in the cart and push.

Look around the store behind her. Have you ever seen a Target so lacking in people. One lady right behind her is probably an assistant. Two checkers looking bored, that's it. It is a complete photo-op. They probably closed down the entire store, grabbed a couple of bags and random crap to put in it and took this 'staged' photo. I'm sure after this shot was snapped, she dropped the bags and had her assistant go to a custom designer for all her trappings.
They must have had a tarp sale....
